Re: Acceptable Police Clearance for American?

I think they were underwhelmed with the response from the California Department of Justice; it's not on letterhead and is quite brief. What do you mean by "underwhelmed"? Generally they'll either accept evidence, or not. I agree with @littlerr - get the FBI one as you were asked to provide clearanc...

Re: delay in citizenship application - applied in 2016

I got FOI on my application. It has been filled up to question 21 in which someone has signed and sent me second stage letter in the end of 2017 and no other question is filled. But there is another checklist (submission checklist prior to submission for Minister decision) which is all filled and s...

Naturalization, adult, been here more than 5 years.
What, exactly, were you asked to provide? You should check the wording carefully.

In my (similar) application I haven't been asked for a police cert of any sort from my previous country.

Re: Second Stage letter

What normaly happens after second stage letter?in my understanding the approval follows after that or what? At what stage they require payment? In straightforward cases, yes, the next letter after second stage is approval. The approval letter asks for payment, usually within a short period of time ...

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

Anyone here who attended the June 25th ceremony in Waterford? From what I can see, only two people on this forum who applied in 2017 attended (but they applied earlier in the year than you did). It was mostly people from 2018 and a couple from 2019. I was there, as my wife (2018) got it. Anyone wit...

Re: Second Stage letter

I got my second stage letter today after end of april i ve submitted additional docs. I wonder if someone knows how long does it approximately take until i get approval after second stage? Re: 2019 Naturalization Response Delay Discussion

If the office is swamped, how is it possible that on one hand people are waiting for more than 4 months to get just the acknowledgment and on the other hand there are cases where one received the acknowledgement just in a week. If the office has huge backlog, the delay should have been uniform, isn...

Re: 2019 Naturalization Response Delay Discussion

Yes, many people are waiting for acknowledgement of their application (a reference number). The wait time for acknowledgement compared to same months of 2018 is higher. Applications in March/April 2018 waited around 42 days, and currently, people are waiting well over 70 days. If that is the case h...

Do you know if they have asked for GNIB card back . Otherwise he will not be able to travel till sept unless they are planning another small ceremony
You can travel without a GNIB (or IRP as it's now known), as long as you have your approval letter.

Re: Naturalisation - FOI and Q5.6 on absences from the state

I've now followed up with INIS by email, and written to my TD. My TD has already got a response from INIS, and my file is being moved to next stage of processing. I don't know exactly what that means, but it's better than nothing. My file had not moved in over a year until this intervention. As adv...

Re: Naturalisation - FOI and Q5.6 on absences from the state

The questions seem to fall into three categories: Procedural, where they are just recording something they've done (e.g. Q1) Checking if you supplied enough information, where you might get a second chance (e.g. Q3 - some people get asked to supply a handwritten explanation of why signatures are dif...

Re: Naturalisation - FOI and Q5.6 on absences from the state

When complete it will be about 60 pages in total, I notice you mentioned 300 pages give or take. Can I ask why so many pages? I'm concerned I'm missing something other than what's on the required docs list in the application. 60 sounds ok. They'll have less chance of misplacing key pages, at least!...

Naturalisation - FOI and Q5.6 on absences from the state

I requested my personal data under FOI as no progress had been made in some time, and I've had no luck calling or emailing. I'm not yet at Stage 2, but my wife, who applied after me with a near identical application, is already approved. I figured something has gone wrong, so I wanted to see what I ...

Re: Irish citizenship 2018 - absence after application

Should I inform the department of my absence of more than 6 weeks? Check the letters you have received for guidance. I think the instructions on the first letter ask you to notify them of change in circumstances (address, employment, marriage, etc). You can judge if your time away amounts to a chan...

my question is if its still any chance for me to be on June ceremony its only 2 weeks left to go. My wife got her invite today - it was posted yesterday 13/6.
