Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

Hi Littlerr, Wasn't your application already submitted to the Minister as per last week update? Did they keep the same story for you this week that it is submitted or avoided to say that but rather say completed/well-advanced etc.? Just asking as it is common for them to tell you a different story ...

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

I rang today, the guy attending my phone gave me kind of a miny speech, explaining that I am at a well-advanced stage and told me that nothing is needed by the Department either from or of me anymore. Strangely enough rather than typical phone respondent at INIS who tend to have robotic tone and no...

Re: 6 Weeks Absence Rule

This is the second piece oF VITAL INFORMATION that I got today when I went to see Solicitors with my brother in law. He is a hard-working field engineer who must travel to the UK every week for work. He has been refused because of the 6-week rule. The rule has no legal standing or grounding in law ...

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

At first I thought they delayed applications that needed some more digging but after the FOI topic I am sure they need to keep the numbers under 10.000 per year so they probably delay a a couple of lucky ones like us. It breaks my heart seeing people getting their approval in 3 months just out of ra...

I called again and was informed it is still being prepared for submission and that she has no way of knowing when it will be submitted. At least she was honest.

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

Ive had my 2nd stage letter since Nov 2017 have no offences, never claimed anything and have been living here for the past 12 years. So, its hard to know the answer to your question :/ some people get it very quickly while others wait... But I do believe they are working on the delayed applications ...

Re: Please help me, citizenship saying inconsistency of signature

I honestly cant believe it took them over a year to come back to you with a signature inconsistency issue. However, it is a good sign that they are working in the October/17 applications. Hope you hear good news soon.

Re: 6 week rule after the approval letter

Hi everyone! I received my citizenship approval letter at the end of last year and I'm waiting for the ceremony invitation. I am wondering if the 6 week rule still applies after being approved? I have a 6 week holiday booked, leaving at the start of next month but something came up and I might need...

Re: Citizenship: After 4 months I haven't received acknowledgement letter - What do do?

Hi everyone. I submitted my application on Set 11 2018, based on a civil partnership to an Irish citizen. I saw the time line topic here and noticed most people receive an acknowledgement letter and their passport back in around a month, it's been almost 4 months and I'm still waiting. I reached ou...

Re: Applying by end of December? Is that ok?

Your application day counts from the day the solicitor signs & witness it so you need to bear this in mind (make sure it is signed on/after the 28th of December). Some solicitor offices close for the christmas break and only return on the 5th of January. A week or two will not make a difference ...

I also applied October 2017, April 2018 I got a later saying it's been processed in a normal way.

Then a week ago I email asking for update again and they replied saying it's still being processed
Can I ask what is the basis of your application?

It seems then that they do prioritise people who applied first for the ceremonies. I have a friend who had hers approved in late October and she made it to the ceremony, but she applied in May 2017.

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

anything to be worried about that i haven't explicitly received a 2nd stage letter? i applied in oct 2017 and the only proactive communication i received from inis was in april 2018 saying: "Your application is currently being processed in the normal way with a view to establishing whether you...
