Like any mediocre bureaucracy: they follow the process, do not use common sense, and most importantly never talk to each other :-)

Re: Don't be so negative

"We will be introducing a fee of £300 for applications made in person at our public enquiry office in the future, but there will no fee for applications made by post." They used to process EEA1 applications in person, and the promise was that most applications would be decided the same day. I do n...

Yes - it is a Kafkaesque bureaucracy that is slowly but surely drifting into total chaos caused by lack of management. But that is just my personal opinion. :-)

Well that is the whole point. There is no immigration decision. The right under regulation 26 can only be exercised if there is a proper notice of decision. Not yet, I guess. But if you talk formalities, the process is still ongoing, because it can only be concluded by the applicant withdrawing the...

Re: Don't be so negative

I don't understand why people are so negative. Because the whole "freemium" business idea is suspect. It creates an incentive to deteriorate the quality of the free product, so that more people charge the premium product. It happened with Spotify, Amazon shipping, and many other services. I am sure...

The purpose of her joining you must be because she is an extended family member due to being dependant upon you. I would keep the above to yourself, as I have seen written in guidelines somewhere that joining family for a better life is not the purpose of a family permit (in reality why would anyon...

I send around £300 per month, somtimes more. That converts to $1200 ECD. They are living in a remote rural village were there's no employment. $1200 is a lot of money over there and can definitely provide in the basics for more then 1 person. (in this case mom and daughter) The daughter is 16 now a...

RC (dated 07/06/12) received 07/07/12 EEA2 application sent on 11/04/12. COA never issued, caused me loose my job. I am sorry to hear that - do you have any chance of getting your job back? If not, you have two options: you can go after your employer, or after the UKBA. Because it is not quite clea...

Or you can do something about it. Your application should have been processed within one or two days It should have, but the UK embassies have never done that, not at the best of times. We had to withdraw one after 2 weeks, for example, and it was in a first world country. Of course you can complai...

IPS said I can't do based on the fact that I don't have ILR (because the PR sticker got a renewal date, to them is a "time limit"). Wow, that is amazingly incompetent. But of course the UKBA also failed to clarified the situation by including the important fact that you are considered "settled" wit...

Re: Phew..

On another note however: if beloved had been an issue, the HO had ample opportunity to discriminate in our case. I am African, black, need a visa for the UK and in a same gender relationship. But, they haven't and I am convinced that they wouldn't. So, rather than guessing I would put the struggle ...

Just don’t understand why it is taking so long to send a confirmation letter. There are two reasons: they check the application first before they "accept" it, and it takes a long time for mail to make it out of the UKBA. I would talk to the employer - the CoA is not necessary to demonstrate the rig...

Well here we are, it is now the 26 of June. What has changed? Nothing. Best we can hope for is an ECJ case that might or might not be solved by 2014. And, are you surprised? The UKBA has only ever paid lip service to the European regulations, they have never actually understood the spirit of it. (A...

The application is free so no harm writing a letter explaining that you can't locate the PR card but they should check their files. I don't see any issue with that. It is free, but it is not without risk. So I agree, this should be planned carefully. For example one of the questions is when the dad...

You might be dependent on your mother but only EEA national can sponsor applications under EEA regulations. It doesn't matter that your mother has PR if you make application under the EEA rules. Re: regarding eea2

it is absolutely against the human rights that UKBA decide eea2 application within 6months While it is inconvenient, in most cases the Residence Card is only a confirmation of your existing rights. There should be nothing you cannot do without it, so the time it takes is not actually that important...

That's an interesting reasoning about what might have happened, though, for their sake, we hope it isn't true. Because if it were, it would mean that not only is the UKBA vindictive, I would call it hypocritical rather than vindictive. If the situation is as described, it seems quite reasonable to ...
