Re: delay in citizenship application - applied in 2016

No I didn’t send anything or any FOI, they even didn’t ask for any docs. TBH I don’t know or think of any reason why it took so long.

Re: passport/citizenship for adoptee

Hi, The valid proof in any state department is the document. If you could get your original birth certificate and can prove to them that your parents or one parent was Irish then obviously you are born Irish. By way of adoption into another country one doesn’t lose the nationality of birth country (...

Re: Re-Entry to Ireland - Maximum number of days within which one should return to Ireland

I always have multiple re entry visa for the last 5-6 years and each year I visited back home. I was never asked any questions at the port of entry about the number of days. On one occasion I had 3 or 4 days for my visa to expire and it was fine. I don’t think there is anything like maximum number o...

Re: delay in citizenship application - applied in 2016

Today the lady on the phone told that my application is being prepared for submission to the minister.
TBH can’t be sure re: the honesty and truth as per the experience of people on these forums. But that was the first time I got this answer.

Re: delay in citizenship application - applied in 2016

Called them today and the lady told me that my application is in the final stage for submission to minister but she said she couldn’t tell me any time frame.
Any idea how much time usually they take from here onwards if I assume the lady was telling me the correct story.
