Re: New Appointment Centre UKVCAS

I don’t know which area you live in but my nephew was able to book a free appointment at Croydon for Friday 21st and could have got one in Reading for £60. He said there were several available. He could have actually got one in Croydon for tomorrow the 17th but has not scanned or uploaded his docum...

Re: British Citizenship - New Online Application

I arrived 1hr early (just in case), so was ok to wait until my actual appointment time when they mentioned there was a massive backlog. The staff were very nice (Brighton Library staff - who told me they had no more than 5mins training/induction on the system). When my actual appointment time came ...

Re: Naturalisation and English Test

Go to Trinity College London and look for the B1 level exam for naturalisation. Their website tells you all about the test and includes a few video recordings of others taking the examination. It is at a very basic level.

Re: British Citizenship - New Online Application

I just went through the "NEW SERVICE" on Monday and the experience was atrocious: 1. completed online application and payment on UKVI within which I had to decide between "new" and conventional service processing. Decided to use the new service after checking available of freshly opened centres in ...

Re: British Citizenship - New Online Application

So I went for my appointment on Saturday, I had paid premium service (£100) and Document check (£30), the whole process took approx. 30 mins. They took biometrics, then checked the docs that I had uploaded - even though I received an email saying no action required from the document check the day b...

UKVCAS appointment booking nightmare

Totally pathetic situation. I just submitted my online application and was transferred to UKVCAS website. I could not find any available appointments at Reading or Wimbledon for the coming 14 days. No option to choose dates beyond that. Is this a joke or what? Now booked into Croydon next week. Some...

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

Hi everyone, Firstly, thank god I found this page - seems impossible to find any useful official information! I have a could of clarifications I am hoping someone can help with. I will be eligible to apply for citizenship by naturalisation on January 21st. 1. Can I book my appointment before then? ...

Re: Scanning Passport

yes it is better to scan each page of the document and upload. I tried self-uploading a file containing all pages of my passport but it was too big (Sopra system only allows 6MB per file). So when I went for my appointment, I asked the person checking my documents to scan my entire current passport...

Re: Entered the UK after 4 years of absence. Need advice!!!

Donakey111 Why do you need BRP to get a job, the ILR vignette in your passport is sufficient. Also, did you visit UK at any time during those four years? i.e. a quick visit? ILR vignette is unfortunately no longer sufficient. The requirement to change to a brp card came into effect a couple of year...

How have you managed to book this appointment? I can't find the web link, I have searched everywhere! Thanks so much. I have also failed to find any booking system for sopra steria. I believe it is only accessible through the UKVI online application process, after payment has been made. Maybe Josh ...

Re: UKVI Digital Changes, No PEO/PSCs from October 2018?

It really isn't clear what the changes mean! I had proactively set up a 14th November NDRS appointment for myself last month. I wanted to be sure I get a date within 10 days of submitting my online application. Following the recent changes of the service centers, it seems like the only 2 options ar...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Process

P60s etc are only required as proof of residence in the UK if the applicant's passport isn't stamped on entry/exit from the UK. When I applied online it explained that non-EU/EEA applicants can just submit their passports as evidence of living in the UK, while EU/EEA applicants must submit alternati...

Re: Uncertainty around start, submission date of citizenship application under new system

Hi All, just to share some information. I would be applying for my naturalisation (via the route - 12 months ILR + Tier 2) along with my wife (same situation). We have been given an appointment for NCS on 30/11/2018. Now this is really strange as it says that after 29/11/2018 all would be moved to ...

I have now received the update for the new service on the online form itself. Most councils...

Like you, I am ready to apply for citizenship by naturalisation in December. I have been reading all the relevant posts about the sopra steria provided service centres. Things are far from clear. The gov.uk website has not been updated. It still refers to the old system of NCS, NDRS or postal applic...

Re: UKVI Digital Changes, No PEO/PSCs from October 2018?

According to links in previous posts, Sopra Steria should have their online appointment booking system active from today. I can find nothing on their website. Maybe there's a dedicated website for this? Also I note the complete and utter failure by UKVI to inform the many, many visa applicants about...

Re: Replacement service for NDRS/ JCAP

The changes were announced in May this year with an expected start date of early November. UKVI has failed its duty by not making things clear to its supplicants, like us. Shame on them. If you google this text you'll find some information on what is likely to happen (sorry not allowed to post the U...
