I think, those who holding resdidence cards and pre-settled status will not have to do anything after December 2020, I mean online status will be linked to residence cards. Those who did not apply under eu settlement scheme will have their residence cards invalid. I agree with you. Settlement / Pre...

I see this question showing up almost daily, I am going to try to cover it appropriately. Please feel free to add your comments/experience. Hi If you are EEA national but live & work in the UK, you can't invite a family member to France. Even if you are French, it doesn't matter. Because when you invite someone, you can only invite them to the country where you reside. As a sponsor, you need to show proof of income and proof of residenc...
I don't know for France, but some countries, have express visa appointments with TLS provided you pay extra. Like for UK: TLS have 2 calendars. One for regular appointments and another one for express appointments. I don't know for France, but you need to check with them if such service is offered. ...

But we were never even asked in the online application if my sponsor has dual citizenship. It asked about her nationality, but it wouldn't even let us select more than one. So we just put her EU nationality as that's what's relevant here. At no point did the online application ask us about any furt...
Even after the Brexit, as a British you will be still able to bring your partner back home but you won't be able to use the EEA routes at some point. You would have then to use UK routes for that. These routes are notoriously more difficult and more expensive really. You are leaving Germany. It's th...
It's hard to give absolute opinions about the future. But in general, with the Brexit, immigration rules aren't going to be easier for EEA nationals and their family. At the moment, when the Home Office case workers deliver a residence under EEA routes, it's not because they are happy to do it but b...
For those that tried applying online, where exactly did the online system not let you proceed? We did it online / through the app, and I am 99% sure we were never even asked if the sponsor has more than one nationality. I know personally at least one person who applied using the App. The applicatio...
Does she meet the B1 English requirement? Yes she did that with Trinity college and received a long reference number to use within the citizenship application. We already started the online application, but we can't progress until she passes her Life in UK test. She is a bit struggling with it to b...
She could have applied as soon as she got PR if you were British at that point and there was no need to wait a year. I didn't know that. I first became British then a few weeks later, she got her PR. She made her application even before I applied for the citizenship my the citizenship got sorted fa...
When I got my letter, I also chased my council on the phone for 10 days without any success. I was about to go to another council. Then, I decided to drive there and have a chat with them. The lady at the reception told me nicely that their office is small, understaffed and actually the person who d...
Hello I am UK/EEA national (got UK citizenship last year). My wife has permanent residence through EEA route. She got her BRC exactly 1 year ago. She now qualifies to apply for British citizenship through the 5-year route. My question is: - Does she have to first apply for settled status then only f...
The EU Settlement scheme seems more open about the definition of "Dependent Relative" who can be anyone from the family really. While the Lounes is more specific and the relative definition is restricted to child and parents in direct ascending line. For instance, a cousin would qualify as Dependent...
Note to self really but can be useful for people searching on the same topic. On the EU Settlement Scheme guidance, the Dependant Relative case exists. While in the Lounes (above) it doesn't:
Hello If you: - Live in France - Pay taxes in France - Have your business/work in France You are not, yourself, a UK resident despite having the British citizenship. Your non-EU wife can't stay in the UK without you. You have to use EU routes in France to bring her with you there. Probably that's wh...

Someone from my family managed to apply that scenario. May be they fixed it now but it used to be possible. They even sent a COA stating a "valid application". Only when the application landed with the case worker that it was declined and a paper form sent
If you apply online, your application will be initially accepted. You will even get an automatic COA then next thing you know is that your application is bounced and you have to apply using the paper form.
