Re: I need advice about my immigration status pls

By law, they need to inform the Home Office if they divorce or separate. Having "problems" in the couple, in the generic sense, doesn't need to be reported to the Home Office. They are after chance of circumstances more than personal issues really. Violence has to be substantiated more than that. In...

Re: I need advice about my immigration status pls

Hello To summarise: - You are: non-EU - Your wife is: British You are both to the point where you want to kill each other and you both expressed it by various means. Your wife cannot just call the 999 and get your residence card cancelled. It's more complicated than that and it takes time. The thing...

Re: Refusal Letter (EEA QP) - Appeal, reconsideration or new application?

Hello

As your partner didn't provide the insurance during the application. the refusal was correct. That's why appealing doesn't make much sense here.

The easiest way in my opinion is to quickly fill a new application with the proper documents, including the insurance certificate.

Re: Advice on options for girlfriend visit - Colombian citizen

Hello Often when the person has a partner in the UK, the visitor visa is refused on the basis "we are no satisfied that you are genuine visitor". The perfect visitor should have no ties at all with the UK and strong ties to his/her home country. The fact that she has a partner in the UK is often see...

That's another story. I am surprised the IO didn't check further. My advice is only for foreign authorities indeed.

Re: Visit visa for parents

There are no rules written in stone. You won't find something like "you need to demonstrate you have X number of relatives in your home country". You just have to show enough elements to satisfy the caseworker that the visit is genuine and the applicant have many reasons to go back home. IDs for rel...

Re: Concealing British Citizenship

Hello The Home Office doesn't force you to go all over the world telling various authorities that you are British. If you are abroad and you risk prosecution, persecution or getting into trouble but telling people, including foreign authorities, that you are British, by all means just deny it and te...

Hello Do they have a retirement pension? For the visa, you have to demonstrate their financial circumstances. If they are supported by your brother as sole/main source of income, you have then to add his own payslips to the application. It's good that their own a flat. You need to show that. In fact...

Ask them to escalate to their manager. If you are talking to some junior HR staff, they won't be able to assist you. They will stick to the process and repeat the same things no mater what you tell them.

The sponsorship is between yourself and your employer. You cannot really force them to keep your sponsorship but you can talk with them and see what are the options on the table.

You have nothing to lose by calling them.

The check online is helpful to prove your right to work but you can't use it for travelling. You need to have the BRC in hand to travel.

Re: Tricky situation:Albanian with long EU resident permit released by Italy

Hello The right to move between EU countries and work there is exclusive to EEA citizens. There is no visa that can confer this right. As a non EEA, you can always apply for a work permit in an EEA country. That work permit is delivered according to the local laws of the country and valid only in th...

Why 30 days? When your leave ends, it ends. You have until midnight on the day it ends to leave the country. If you stay longer, even a few days, it can be held against you.

Re: Brc name change

End-2019, I helped a family member with name change on BRC. It took 2 months.

The Home Office is very unpredictable with this kind of things. They can take any time really. But 1 month between submission and return of the new BRC seems a bit short to me.

Re: UK Visit Visa for parents.

Your immigration history is not without its flaws but the problem is that your own parents cannot hide the fact that they have someone in the UK. Imagine they just apply without mentioning you and the Home Office finds out about you. How is it going to look? The Home Office may think they have some ...

Re: Appeal or new application for Refusal case

Your plan sounds a bit weak to me. You can't just get an EEA citizen to travel to the UK and he sponsors you during that trip. The Home Office never liked the idea of EEA nationals bringing non-EEA dependent to the UK. If you are to lodge such application, you have to make sure you have a strong cas...

Re: Need BRP back from the DVLA ASAP

Hello

There is nothing you can do really.

Before you send a document to the DVLA, make sure you don't need it a couple of days later.

The only hope I can give you is that the DVLA is very quick on using and returning these documents. Often during the same week they are back to you.

Report to the police and send everything to the Home Office: - The part that they managed to return - the letter from the post with the apologies - and the police report. Use a special delivery envelope at the post office. They are made of silver plastic and nearly indestructible. Once you do that, ...

Hello Time doesn't mean anything. I have seen visas granted after 2 days and visas refused after 2 months. The time on its own cannot tell you anything really. Especially you are applying from the US, they shouldn't have massive queues of people lodging visa applications to the UK. You application w...

Hello There is no visa for this kind of situation. The only thing you can do is to get her here on visitor visa but it's limited to 180 days a year. If she doesn't have a job in Morocco and strong attachments there, even a visitor visa can be very challenging to obtain. You will see in this forum th...

Hello You can buy your ticket matching your US passport. Then, when you are in the UK, just use your UK passport either as a manned control point or an eGate. Most often than not, you will be directed to eGates and you are in the country within seconds. UK immigration won't care if you have a second...

Hello If your idea is to spend 3 days as a tourist before Jan 31, apply for pre-settlement and go back to your country, it's not going to work. You have to come to the UK with the intention to settle and that's different from spending a short time in an Airbnb then leaving. A tourist is not exercisi...

You don't need a visa. I am EEA national and my wife has the same card as yours. We went all over Europe without any visa on her passport. However, you need to know that some airline staff and sometimes even border officials, are not aware about EU Regulations or even that EU exists. You have to sta...
