Re: British Citizenship driving offence

This would...

Re: UK Naturalization

I explained all this to the Joge, but She said I was being charged because I did not fill the notice myself. I did plead no guilty. You pleaded not guilty but seems you were found guilty nonetheless. Unless your friend had come clean and took the blame in court it is impossible to prove that it was...

Re: Naturalisation Application

I'm a little confused by the history. If he never got the refusal letter, at what point did he leave the country? After chasing it up? Anyway, this is what the Nationality Good character requirement says about overstaying. It's also worth bearing in mind what the initial reason for refusal was as it...

Re: Where do I send the referee declarations?

I would still email and then post. I personally have been waiting for a 1st class recorded item to be delivered and it's been over a week already even though they aim to deliver in 1-3 days. With the holidays around the corner who knows when/if it'll be delivered! Post Office will give £50 compensat...

Re: Where do I send the referee declarations?

They're supposed to be scanned and uploaded with all your other supporting documents before you attend your appointment at the UKVCAS. Once there they will only ask for passport/s. Some say you can still upload on your UKVCAS account on same day after your appointment butthere is no guarantee that t...

If his membership on his professional body hasn't lapsed yet I don't see any problem. Find out with him when it does. This is usually renewed annually and can be checked online on relevant professional bodies' websites, I'm guessing that's what the Home Office use to check so important that he's sti...

What do you think we should do, should we highlight the overstay or leave it to the HO. What do you recommend should be apply and put the information in a covering note or shall we wait till 2022. in my opinion, I will suggest you do not apply until 10 years from when the spouse visa application wa...

Re: Citizenship after 1 year on ILR

Another option which you didn't list is to book a private ceremony which would allow you to attend earlier and at your convenience but at a cost. Check with your local council. You could then apply for passport on the same day after the ceremony to maximize chances of getting it quicker. Most people...

can I apply with my current expired passport or do I need to renew it before applying.
As already mentioned above, your expired passport is fine but gather some evidence to go with it to prove your residency since the time it expired. For instance P60s, letter from employer/s etc.

Re: Naturalisation

It was only because I couldn't find the answer to the OP's question. I don't think needless sarcasm implying people are dumb disguised as humour (even when a laughing emoji is inserted to drive this point home) is what people are looking for when they come here. A straight forward answer is all.

Re: Same address, same condition but my application got delayed severely

The SAR will be the best option but it does take about a month to get it. Whilst you're waiting you could send them an email if you haven't already or even if you already did before. I have found the email addresses below are the ones where you will be replied by a real person not a robot after a fe...

Re: Citizenship and previous Section 3C

Hi all, I am currently holding an ILR, technically I could apply for UK citizenship in 9 months. Given that all other requirements are satisfied, could being covered under Section 3C at some point in the past 10 years (and more than 5 years ago) be an issue when applying for citizenship? My ILR rou...

Re: Received approval letter but unsure about ceremony timeline

The 21 days are only to contact the council and book a date for the ceremony. You have up to 3 months to attend your ceremony from the date on your approval letter. There won't be a problem with your plan of travelling first and then attending the ceremony after, just make sure you have booked your ...

Re: Declaring old fixed penalty points?

Hi, Thank you This is the only FPN I have ever since I arrived to london What does it mean as it does not specify the period in years: You have 3 or more FPN at any level No it doesn't say the period in years for that particular point that's why it's safe to interpret it as during your entire durat...

Sorry the 2 completely different cases in the same thread threw me off and I didn't realise it was under the same user name. Makes sense that it's two different people. Here's what the Guide AN says about FPNs under Criminality; https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uplo...

Re: Declaring old fixed penalty points?

First you need to determine whether your traffic offences were Fixed Penalty Notices or Penalty Charge Notices. For instance, driving in a bus lane is a PCN and does not need to be declared. Driving without MOT is a FPN and needs to be declared. The naturalisation guide asks for all FPNs to be decla...

Re: citizenship application with 6 points on driving license

It's weird when they use examples of disqualification or driving without insurance. There is space on the online application to declare "Something else..." and this is where this would fall into. I guess in your case you'd have to consider the 3rd point - i.e. in the past 3 years you received 2 or ...

Re: citizenship application with 6 points on driving license

Fixed penalty notices (such as speeding or parking tickets) must be disclosed, although will not normally be taken into account unless: • you have failed to pay and there were criminal proceedings as a result • you received 3 or more fixed penalty notices at any level • in the past 3 years you rece...

Re: citizenship application with 6 points on driving license

Fair enough. As I said, we declared under "Something else...." where it asked about any offences ever, my interpretation was Fixed Penalty Notices had to be declared. We did it just for peace of mind. But you're right, all this is just advice and you have to make the decision ultimately.

Re: citizenship application with 6 points on driving license

Well that's a shame user Ty3 can't receive messages yet. Definitely would've been the best person to share a similar experience. That said, they do have an active thread of their own down about 10 spaces asking about First Passport referee, you could ask there and they'd get a notification of your q...
