Re: First Ceremony of 2019

Called them today and got info that I need to prepare Eur950.00 + 2 pics :) hopefully its true. I applied as German passport holder in Jul 2018. Germans can’t have 2 citizenships - why would you abandon your German one and pursue Irish? Germany accepts dual nationality with other member states of t...

Re: First Ceremony of 2019

You could be waiting 2 years as well as a few months... there's no timeline really even for straightforward application. For more info you should create your own post so we are not going off-topic on this one

Re: PSC card

From the INIS website:

From 19th September 2016 anyone applying for a certificate of naturalisation who is aged 18 and above and who is resident in the State, must be registered with the Department of Social Protection for a Public Services Card (PSC).

I got the same letter.
I then wrote a letter explaining that my writing has simply evolved during the years bla bla and it was fine for them. After a few weeks I received my second stage letter.

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

My wife applied for Irish naturalisation in July 2017 and still no decision on her application. Hello did your wife get her second stage letter ? I applied in Oct 17 and haven’t received a second stage letter. I emailed Inis on Fri explicitly asking them was I at 2nd stage as haven’t received a let...

Re: Travelling with Irish Naturalisation Certificate

You must have an Irish/EU passport to get through the EU queue. The naturalisation certificate won't change a thing.

Re: Form 8 - Naturalisation (5+ years) - Required docs question

Yes, you do have to send your original passport (which will be returned to you in a couple of weeks). I you have worked for the same employer one letter is enough (as far as it is recent).

At the end of the day... I wasn't in the second stage as I just received today the second stage letter (after being required additional docs last month). :)
Am I correct assuming now that the second stage is all about garda reports, etc.? :?:

I heard if you apply via solicitor applications tend to last longer then a normal one for INIS to make a decision. You can find some info on this forum. No idea why but who knows.
Actually the only reason I applied through a solicitor is because, apparently, it's was quicker to get approved.
