Re: Citizenship revocation

You don't need to do anything until the 7 year mark has passed. After that you need to do it every year.

You need to fill out a Form 5 every year and mail it to INIS if you are not ordinarily resident in Ireland for more than 7 years.

Re: Next citizenship ceremonies will be in Spring 2020

Does anyone know what happens if you can't make a ceremony date? Just realising if I was in fact invited to the March 2 or 3 ones that my husband is out of the country making it a little complicated to get to Kerry for the day with the kids at home etc since kids cannot attend the ceremony. Do you ...

Re: Citizenship for permanent resident Eu fam stamp 4

Please don't start a new thread with the exact same questions. No. Just the stamps from your local Garda station which should have a registration date and an expiry date. And yes you MUST use the residency calculator as you seem to be a non-EU citizen with Stamp 4EUFAM. You seem to be completely clu...

Re: Mismatch stamps on my passport with my GNIB

Write to the GNIB office in Dublin requesting for your period of reckonable residence. You’ll get it in a week or two at the most and you can use those dates for the residency calculator. I tried this but did not work. This the reply I got: "I am to advise that the information sought by you is for ...

Re: Stamp 4 Visa Expiring - Unable to get an Appointment in Time

She walked-in 2 years ago. The appointment system was well established before that. It all depends on the reasons you can provide and the mood of the receptionist. I've seen a number of people on this forum who has successfully got a ticket last year for various reasons (some of them simply don't wa...

Re: Stamp 4 Visa Expiring - Unable to get an Appointment in Time

See this thread regarding the difficulty with booking an appointment. https://www.immigrationboards.com/ireland/difficulty-booking-an-appointment-with-inis-t295033.html Btw you should start looking for appointments 10 weeks in advance, not 4 weeks, although it is still very hard to find one by yours...

If the letter says 10 days, it is 10 days. It would clearly say 'working days' if it is the case.

Re: Difficulty booking an appointment with INIS

I thought the time is 9am for new appointments (mostly 10 weeks from now), and 2.30pm for any additional slots for the next few days. I might be wrong though. It’s nearly impossible to get one without paying a fortune to some random third-party extortion apps. I even remember getting alerts of free...

Re: Can I stay with my wife at Dublin airport immigration?

Yes you can and you should queue with her in the non-EU line.

Once she registers with INIS and gets her Stamp 4, in future you should be able to use the EU line if you travel together.

There is an article on this on Irish Times last month detailing the difficulties and the extortionate money that third parties charge you to book an appointment.

What’s the difficulty you are having? Yes you must use the residency calculator. Your passport would have a number of stamps stating your start and end date for each of your registration.

Re: Flying home to Ireland with USA Wife - Any Immigration Requirements?

Just tell them your wife is intending to move to Ireland and you guys will live together. The immigration officer will place a stamp on her passport and you will need to go to the Burgh Quay office or local Garda station (depending on where you live) to get her a residence permit.

Re: Applying for Irish Citizinship 2020

1. In principle the requirement is 6 weeks max. You can explain your situation but it’s up to the minister to consider whether he accepts your application. 2 & 3. You can be out of the state for more than 6 weeks but I heard this period needs to be deducted. So if you were out for 8 weeks, you shoul...

You said you applied last September, right? That means your application would have been rejected because it exceeded the 610 quota. What is your salary? In order to apply for critical skills employment permit, your salary must exceeds 60000 euro and you must be able to demonstrate your experience in...

Re: My Work permit Critical Skills had been refused.

The rejection letter you received would have stated the exact reason for rejecting your application.

If you were applying as a chef as suggested in your username, you should note that on the DBEI website it has clearly said that it subjects to a quota of 610 permits which has already been exhausted.

Re: Travel and re-entry without IRP while waiting for citizenship ceremony?

Yeah I've done it a dozen times between last March and June. No questions asked. Just show them your approval letter (or a copy of your naturalisation certificate once you receive it). Just remember that if you need a visa to enter Ireland, you will need to get the re-entry visa by posting your pass...
