Re: First Ceremony of 2019

Quick question for those going to the next ceremony - what sort of time does it state that the ceremony starts for you? I just got my acceptance letter, so have to send them the cheque. But if I get an invite for the next ceremony then I have to travel down from Galway by either coach or train, so ...

Re: Bankers Draft NI

Some people have just received their approval letter this week, so there's still time. If you can travel to Dublin during the week I can surely meet you somewhere in the city centre and get a bank draft for you. You will need to be able to use the private messages (at least 20 posts?) function thoug...

Re: Absent from the state for more than 6 weeks in the past 5 years

For some people, it's 2 or 3 days. For others, it's more than 6 weeks. We don't know what they do and why there's such a huge difference. You should plan for at least 6 weeks without passport. If it takes more than 6 weeks and you need your passport for other purposes, you can email or write to them...

Re: Irish Citizenship by Naturalisation

Yeah their phone lines are a joke. In two occasions I kept calling from 10:00 to 12:30 non stop, and couldn't get through. I'm afraid the only thing you can do is to wait. You can try to email them again and ask for an acknowledgement. FOI is not applicable here as they haven't started processing yo...

Re: Irish Citizenship by Naturalisation

I emailed them yesterday and got the reply within an hour. It is unusual but I would expect them to reply within 2 weeks. Did you ask them when the initial processing of the application will be complete, or did you simply request for your passport back? Their phone line is off for the whole April. Y...

Re: First Ceremony of 2019

I emailed them about when the invitations will be sent out, as I want to know if I need to request for a day's leave off work. I got the reply within an hour (!) and it's completely identical to the one mrrobot posted above. I hope that they do check the applicant name before using the typical copy ...

Re: Absent from the state for more than 6 weeks in the past 5 years

The certificate you obtained from your embassy is your birth certificate even if it is called birth affidavits. Chinese citizens born before 1996 do not have an official version of birth certificate either, so we use birth certificates issued by the Chinese authority. There was never any problem wit...

Re: History of Travel on EUTR1

Either way should work. They are not that strict. It's just an indication of where you have been and how long you have been there. Nobody is going to give you a hard time whichever way you write them. As a Chinese national I need to apply for visa for almost every country I visit. These are the kind...

Re: First Ceremony of 2019

Can we all agree we should only post when any of us actually receive the invitation and not when we don't? Otherwise there are going to be countless "nothing for me today"? Plus every time someone posts to this, I would think someone have received it :D Let's be patient guys. Invitations will come ...

Re: Bankers Draft NI

I remember someone said they emailed INIS and they said they could use postal orders as an alternative (even though on their website they said it's bank drafts only). They printed that email correspondence and submitted the postal order along with the email correspondence. If you have a friend who l...

Re: Supporting Documents for EU Treaty Rights

Thanks for the responses. I am not sure what to do in this case, then, about sending off my application without the payslips and bank statements. I guess we just have to see how the next week or two go... As for the bank, we were totally going to do N26!! But my husband's employer refused to pay in...

Re: IRELAND MARRIAGE INTERVIEW QUESTIONS

If your marriage is genuine, there really isn’t any need to be this anxious. You can refuse to answer any personal question when you feel you are offended. There is no need to open multiple threads to ask the same question. If you are just that anxious, a quick google search of “marriage interview ...

Re: Absent from the state for more than 6 weeks in the past 5 years

1. Do they mean for the last 8 years?? - You already copied over their question - it says 5 years. 2. Should I give explanation for my gap? Will telling them, help required to take care of my baby look bad in the application? - My understanding is that if it is not in the last 365 days, you don't ha...

Re: Supporting Documents for EU Treaty Rights

Welcome to Ireland! First question is, I have read that you can send in proof after you send in your application as you gain more proof. Is this true? That's true but you should do your best sending all proofs with the application. Sending documents after the application is lodged only delays your a...

Re: Submitting Application for Irish Naturalization

The only original I submitted is my passport. I did not submit a copy of my Public Service Card (there is a requirement to applicants to apply for it, but there's no requirement to attach a copy of it). I submitted a certified copy of my birth certificate when I asked the solicitor to witness my ap...

You also need to bring your approval letter when you travel.

There are a lot of similar questions in the past and many people here have travelled themselves.

I’m actually going abroad for a few days in April as well and I’m not worried.

If you do a search here you will see tons of posts.

As long as you have your re-entry visa and the approval letter with you, you won’t have any issue.

Re: Selling in Ireland as a foreign business on Stamp 2 Visa

Student visa requires you to be on full time study. You can work for 20 hours a week but you have to have a PPS Number and pay your taxes. Whether your work is in Australia or Ireland doesn’t matter. You are a tax resident in Ireland for this purpose. Furthermore, running a business is not allowed u...
