Re: Six Week Travel Notification After Citizenship Application

Is this outlined in any official document or website? Could someone pls point me in the right direction? Nope. It’s open to interpretation and wide open for potential court cases. I’d rather prefer to be on the safe side, but you can of course have your own interpretation and risk a potential refus...

The additional documentation you need to send depends on how your child obtained their Irish citizenship. ...

You said your son was naturalised recently, but then you were trying to apply for his passport on the basis that he was born on the island of Ireland. You need to select naturalisation instead.

Re: Six Week Travel Notification After Citizenship Application

Both. The idea is the same. You are considered a resident (for citizenship purposes - not for tax purposes) if and only if you live in the country with a max absence of 6 weeks per year. Any extra absence above that needs to be explained.

Re: Crossing Irish Border from NI - Non-Eu Partner

I think you have already convinced yourself into not applying for a visa before you came here, and the only reason you came here is to look for reassurance that what you have been thinking is correct. Well it isn’t. It is a criminal offence. You might not get caught. That is still an offence. And yo...

Re: Crossing Irish Border from NI - Non-Eu Partner

Coincidentally, I travelled to Donegal today which requires me to cross border to NI and then cross back. There was a large presence of Irish immigrations checking cars. They didn't stop me but a lot of cars in front of me were stopped and asked to stop on the side of a dual carriageway to check doc...

On face value it seems that she would need one, however, does the fact that she is resident and working in NI, and will shortly be applying for an Irish passport count in her favour? Such questions aren’t really questions, especially coming from an Irish person’s point of view. UK and Ireland are t...

Re: Paternity leave and parents leave effect on citizenship application ?

Most paternal/maternal benefits are not mean-tested. Some parental benefits are though. The only 2 things that would impact your citizenship application are means-tested benefits and crime history. You need to find the accurate wording of your benefits used, and then you can simply Google if your be...

No. They cannot be replaced. You can, however, ask INIS to issue you a statement confirming your citizenship status. You should not need the statement if you have already got an Irish passport. See website below. https://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/moving_country/irish_citizenship/becoming_an_iris...

Any station is fine, although some guards may request for a proof of address and may raise doubts if the address is too far away from the station.

Does anyone know if there is a limit on the number of times that you can request the FOI? Can you request FOI every year? & Does the FOI delay the Citizenship application? or has no effect at all on the process? FOI and citizenship are two separate things. They don’t affect each other. Re: Travelling back to Ireland close to IRP expiry date

Your card is valid until 26 Dec, so you can come back to Ireland as long as you walk past the immigration before 23:59:59 on 26 Dec. However, note that if you request for a renewal online beforehand, that would automatically cancel your current IRP card once the renewal application is approved. You ...

My partner had the exact same issue 3 years ago. Re: Travel - IRP with Citizenship office

No. Stamps in passports will not be accepted by airlines. You will need to get a re-entry visa. Fill in a Stamp 6 re-entry visa application (you don't need a stamp 6) and send it to re-entry visa office along with your passport, proof of urgent travel and a copy of approval letter. The re-entry visa...

Re: Travel - IRP with Citizenship office

Do you need a visa to travel to Ireland? If you are a visa-required national, you cannot travel back to Ireland without a visa or IRP card. If you are a non-visa required national, you can travel without any issue.

Re: Does a UK Permanent Resident (ILR) require a visa to travel to Ireland/Dublin for tourism?

Btw, that ILR in the sentence refers to the British citizen's status in Ireland - all British citizens have automatic ILR status in Ireland. So are all Irish citizens in the UK.

Re: Does a UK Permanent Resident (ILR) require a visa to travel to Ireland/Dublin for tourism?

"Citizens of the United Kingdom do not require a visa to travel to Ireland as they have Indefinite Leave To Remain ." that's how I interpreted that sentence. I have Indefinite Leave to Remain too. Then your interpretation is wrong. The subject of that sentence is crystal clear. Citizens of the Unit...

You are not able to view the disclosure itself, but you can request for a copy from Garda under FOI regulations. It’s good to request a copy every few years just so that you know what records they have on you.

When does her current card expire?
If it expires in 2 months for example, you can either change the expiry date on the application form to be within a month, or you can just wait for another month before applying for it.
