Re: Authorizing statutory provision Statutory Declaration

Solicitors should not fill in W2. In fact as things stand at the moment, no one should fill in W2. Where in the instructions did you see that solicitors need to fill in that part? Application form page 13: "You should complete boxes A1, A2 and A3 and your authorised witness should complete W1, W2, ...

Re: Eligibility for Stamp 4 Support Letter after Job Loss and Unemployment: Questions on Dates and Criteria

To get a Stamp 4 support letter, you need to have been on Stamp 1 for 21 months AND having worked under Stamp 1 for 21 months. So the period you were made redundant needs to be excluded.

Re: Received Italian citizenship while on IRP stamp 4EUFAM

You don’t need to inform INIS but it would be good to. Just send EU treaty department an email explaining the situation. They will mark the record in their file and it will help your wife when she passes through the border in future.

I think I used to reply to everyone that asks about the estimated date - it almost always goes past the estimated date. One or two weeks are a norm. Don’t worry about it.

Re: Indian spouse of Irish citizen living in India, want to move Ireland

Well you can’t say your sponsor will just come to Ireland without any job or money, right? That would suggest to the visa officer that you may have to rely on social benefits, which will raise a red flag in your visa application. The requirement is that the sponsor needs to earn 40K euro in the last...

What advice do you want to obtain? What online can you not find? If you are referring to long-stay visas, surely your case is one of the most common scenarios and there should be advice everywhere, or are you looking for something else?

Thanks for the reply. Were you able to go to your bank and ask for statements back as far as five years? All banks are legally required to hold your data for at least 7 years. You are free to request for any data that the bank holds against you. They may charge you a reasonable amount of money for ...

Re: Irish Citizenship application - Traffic offences

samach is right. You should inform them that you should have said yes to question 11.1. A brief letter of remorse also helps. We barely see anyone getting rejected due to a traffic offence (other than those serious ones like excessive speeding and DUI). You can reach out to them once you get an appl...

Re: Short stay C visa for non EU/UK spouse

DFA does not have any saying in visa outcomes. DFA does not handle your visa applications at all. A typical short-term visitor visa is usually approved within a few days and no more than 3 weeks. However, it can vary significantly depending on the specifics of the application. How much savings do yo...

Gardai does not have any saying in how PPS works. That’s for Revenue. And you are not required to change nationality with Revenue in the first place.

Re: Applying for Passport after Citizenship Ceremony but before receiving Naturalisation Certificate

As CR001 has pointed out, that is a very clear instruction.

Gardai will not sign your application unless you bring the original certificate with you. An approval letter or anything else will not suffice.

If you use your non-EU passport to check in for the flight from the US to the UK, you must present that passport to the UK immigration. You can present both the non-EU passport and the Irish passport card so that you can be admitted more quickly. If you need a visa to travel to the UK on your non-EU...

Does EU gates accept Irish passport card for entry/exit thou?
All EU countries accept Irish passport cards.

I guess your question is whether passport cards are accepted at eGates? No. Holders of national ID cards (passport cards included) cannot use the eGates in most if not all countries.

Re: Passport Card Travel

I have used my passport card to travel around the UK and EU. Must have been at least 30-40 trips in the last few years. I have never been questioned by border staff, but airline staff can sometimes be annoying (and ignorant), so just be prepared to argue your way and that’s about it.

We cannot advise you how the UK government would act here, but as Ticktack mentioned above, it is quite likely that he is placed on a 10-year ban, as per standard. The Irish and British governments share immigration data, so the fact that he was an overstayer and absconder in the UK may impact his s...
