Re: Simple Caution 5 years ago

When was the application submitted? Whichever way, I think it's definitely a good idea to send a cover letter explaining the situation, and to do so as soon as possible. I'm not sure what effect disclosing this will have on the application--probably none as it was more than 3 years ago and it was no...

Re: Delay in application process

Asked caseworker today to confirm whether he received missing documents. 2 mins later got reply from him that he made decision yesterday and I'll receive letter with invite to ceremony. Looks like long journey for me is finished. Good luck to everyone, be patient! :) Congrats Romado! how u manage t...

Re: British citizenship

I just put my current second job down as one of my "previous jobs", but where it asks for the date when the job ended, I put the date (in the future) where my contract is scheduled to end.

Re: Naturalisation approved but waiting for the letter

This is about a naturalisation application for my wife and child. We emailed the Home Office on 14 Jan and they replied the same day stating that a communication would be posted to us which may take 3 weeks to receive. When I received a similar response with my application, I received the approval ...

I will but I understood from the email that they also need the original sent to them?
I read it as: they'd like you to send them the originals via email (i.e. by scanning them). Maybe you could ask in your email if you should also send your passport by post, and see what they reply?

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

That is very annoying, but I guess at least it means that they managed to access all your other documents okay. Once again though, it seems like the UKVCAS staff could really have benefitted from having had a bit more training on how to process these documents.

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

My guess is that the real answer for most cases will lie somewhere between those two figures. Even though I don't think anyone can say it will take "6+months to get a decision via UKVCAS", there does seem to be a slower response time, at least for now. What I'm wondering is if the Home Office would ...

There is a huge backlog it seems for this service. They should have introduced after new YEAR. It looks like it will take 6 months+ using UKVCAS
How do you know? And how can there be such a huge backlog given that the service was only introduced a couple of months ago?

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

Jesus, can everyone just calm down and understand that your applications are being processed. No need for the panic. I too used UKVCAS and am waiting. HO says it can take up to 6 months! Yep, agreed. Also, having had a closer look at the Nov timelines, it seems that most people's UKVCAS appointment...

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

He then said that I should hear back within 6-8 weeks which I find hard to believe but will be nice if it happens. He said there will be no email confirmation. I actually noticed this "8 week" estimate on the checklist that you download after you've completed the online application. Towards the end...

Re: Permanent Residence date

Having gone through the process of applying for PR recently, it seems strange to me that the date on the letter is April 2013. From the details that you've given, I'd also say the date on there should be April 2018. So maybe the case worker made a mistake entering the date? I guess technically you c...

If you mean that you took them to a UKVCAS centre, then no, you would not receive any acknowledgement of this.

Re: employment information not complete

I agree, for the sake of completeness, you should just request the info from HMRC. I'd presume that the Home Office have access to that kind of information anyway, and if they see clear discrepancies, it may raise some questions, especially if, as the previous user said, you were also subject to imm...

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

I agree, I applied on 15th Nov and have not yet got any reply. People who applied after me using NCS got their approvals. I paid for Premium Service but they there was a chaos at the centre. They delayed my biometrics by 3 hrs. There is nothing premium about the service. I share your concern, as I ...

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

You should complain to the official UKVCAS email and also to HO. I agree, the whole system feels like a fiasco. Most people who applied in November and used the UKVCAS system have not received their approval yet. A lot of people who applied under the old system seem to have received their approval....

Did you apply online, and did you receive an email receipt confirming payment? Have you checked your junk inbox?

My instinct would be to contact them if you really can't find any of those emails.

"Previous UK immigration applications in the UK or abroad"

Hi all, I'm currently filling out my online citizenship application, and I'm a bit unsure about the following question: "Have you made any previous UK immigration applications in the UK or abroad?" I'm an EEA Citizen with PR, and I had to apply for that recently. Does that count as a UK immigration ...
