I was told exactly the same. No updates today :roll: did any call inis today ? My orig application in July/aug 2006, additional docs were submitted in Oct 08. I was told they're still waiting for garda clearance that was requested back in October 08 and they said they have sent some sort of reminder...

My friend, submitted application in Sept.06 received letter asking to submit addl documents.

Letter from Dept

Folks,

I received a letter from the Dept asking me to submit P21, Birth Cert etc today. I submitted my application in March.06. Web site is still not updated though.

My friend applied based on 5 years of residency. But, surprisingly, his wife who also applied based on 5 years of residency in 2007, got a letter from the Dept asking her to submit Affidivit & husband payslips, P21 etc. Both are Non-EU. Latest update from INIS web site:

Applications for naturalisation received in February 2006 are currently being processed.

My friend, who applied end of Jan.06, did receive a letter from the Dept asking him to submit affidavit for Date of Birth.

It is possible that Dept hired Contractors just to check the files and ready for making decisions. In any case, it's good to see that some progress is being made. I guess they still have to get Garda clearance. Do they also wait for the references letter from the references given in the application?...

Excellent. I would urge other members, who has legal/journalism experience to fine tune the letter. This is the start. Hi If we can agree on a letter, we all can send the same letter to respective TD's and also to the Justice Minister. I can also ask my friends, who are also in the same position to send the letter. If we can get atleast 100 members, then we can get some attention. I can promise around 10-20 members....
