Re: Overstaying query

Hi Waelayoub, I am not an expert but from the timeline you listed above, it seems you’ve done everything right and on time. If I were in your shoes, I would make sure to include this detailed timeline in a cover letter to HO when you apply. You met your deadlines you should be fine. But again, pleas...

Re: British Citizen Certificate Details

@CR001  I am imagining you fuming ..... you need to send your certificate back to Home Office AFTER you have had your ceremony. ...... Why do we have to return the citizenship certificate, isn't it ours to keep as evidence of naturalisation? Why don't you read what the user has actually posted ...

If you've provided your phone number then yes. They do send texts and emails at every step of your application.

Text from HMPO

Hi,
Am I supposed to expect a text from HMPO to confirm their receipt of my first passport application? I applied via post office check and send service.
Thanks

Re: Is there a reason to be concerned or is it just anxiety

Thanks Zimba. It is absolutely correct what you said but the psychological pressure emerging from comparing oneself to others is hard to overcome. Hopefully I will hear soon from them and thanks for the advice :) British citizenship can take as long as it takes. Do not compare your application with ...

Re: delay more than 10 months

When did you last contact them. I am from the middle east too and I know my application has been submitted 3 months ago only but most applicants that applied during my time have already gotten it and I am worried it would take longer than I had ever expected. Did you contact them recently? What did ...

Is there a reason to be concerned or is it just anxiety

Hi, I applied on 5th Feb 2019 and yet I still haven’t got a decision . I contacted them today and they replied that my application hasn’t been considered yet and that they cannot tell me anything until ‘work begins on my application’ which I found it weird. Many applicants have already received a de...

What did they tell you when you contacted them? Hi All I am in the same situation! I been waiting for 10 months with no update. I involved my local MP but keep getting the same generic response. I thought my case was straight forward as I have no criminal offence neither in this country or any other...

Re: Mistake on Referee form

I think as long as the documents were signed by your referees that should be ok unless Home Office comes back and ask you to re-send. Obviously this is just an opinion and not a confirmation. Hi all, I recently submitted my AN application via the new service and supporting docs via Sopra Steria and ...

Re: Deliberate mishandling of cases

Sorry I meant reconsider not appeal  You cannot appeal for a refused citizenship application. You only have the option to apply (and pay almost £400) for a reconsideration, which can take months. You say 'residency card'. What card do you hold exactly?? Is it a Document Certifying Permanent Re...

Yes I can imagine. All you can do is appeal and provide a thorough explanation of what happened. It is frustrating that they even returned it back to you.

Re: Deliberate mishandling of cases

Hi, you said you contacted HMRC?? Do you mean home office? What does HMRC have to do with this? I applied for UK citizenship on the 18th of February 2019. I submitted all of my documents including my residency card. On the 11th of April 2019 I received a letter stating that my application has been r...

Re: Every time same reply from the HO

People reacts to anxiety and stress differently. The person asking is obviously not enjoying it. So it is up to you as a respondent to whether ignore the question (if you feel annoyed) or answer kindly. Being hostile, with lengthy lectures about what makes and doesn’t make sense take a lot more effo...

No point of replying to him/her. Kindness costs nothing, it is not like he/she is obliged to answer you. He is just putting all this effort into non-constructive criticism more like hostile. Anyway, i hope you will hear soon. Just to let you know, it looks like Feb applications are not moving as fas...

Also, you can provide a tax statement which is available online. That doesnt have ‘Copy only’ stamped on it. I dont think this is right! Even HMRC tells you to use the online documents available. I used to be self - employed (sole trader) for 2 years. I used to submit my tax return online and was go...
