Re: British Citizenship – Good Character Requirement FAQs

Just to make clear that it was voluntary police interview . My personal opinion (and I am not an immigration advisor) is that you can mention it in the additional information section. You could also do a SAR to see your record on the PCN and local police force (where you were interviewed). This jus...

Re: new system naturalisation, acknowledgement letter

I would disregard what dave12560 is saying. The only thing that has changed is the front end system (FES) i.e. the document collection methodology has changed. The decision making process remains unchanged and subject to the same processing timelines as before. If anything, they are likely to be fas...

Re: new system naturalisation, acknowledgement letter

Agreed. In fact, the trend has been that home office is trying to make the application process quicker and more seamless. For e.g. all documents (incl. LIUK certificate) are now scanned and uploaded. It would be counter-productive to implement a new system if it takes longer than the old system! Hav...

Re: new system naturalisation, acknowledgement letter

Agreed. I was told acknowledgment will be received within 3 days at the UKVCAS appointment but haven't received anything. One point of comfort is that the home office does say that they will send a reminder if the UKVCAS appointment has not been attended within 15 working days. If you don't receive...

I’d received my acknowledgement letter through email after 4 weeks I submitted my application online.
Was that an email acknowledging the receipt of application or the receipt of biometrics?
The children can apply for registration on Form MN1 with your husband (as they and you, the other parent, already have ILR).
Even if the child is born outside of the UK?

10 working days. Some get one others don't.
I have not seen anyone get an acknowledgement letter on these forums. Do you have a link where somebody has reported that they did get an acknowledgement after attending a UKVCAS appointment for naturalisation?

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

I attended UKVCAS appointment on 23rd Nov, they were more amateurs & not sure of their software interface, I located scanner option for them in their software. I'm not sure how they will contact me about the decision on my application as I emailed them and haven't got any reply. Their customer care...

Re: British Citizenship – Good Character Requirement FAQs

Dear all, I submitted my application for naturalisation in early December, declaring that I have not had any penalties issued against me by ticking the appropriate checkbox. However, I have literally just remembered that I had previously received two PCNs for parking offences both due to absolute n...

So it looks like you will have to send the questionnaire back to them explaining your activities in the period when you did not have leave to remain.

Just looks like a standard acknowledgement email. People have previously received communication from Migration management support team - which is what MMST in that acronym may stand for.

Is the wording the same as the application received confirmation email? The 6 months timeline is the regular service standard and all emails have the same wording.

Re: Naturalization not refused but HO asked for more information

I think dave12560 is asking for the original contents of your letter without disclosing your personal details like name, address etc.

It is interesting that you applied this month and already received that letter asking for more information.

Re: Help Non-eu apply for british citizens with no working

Employment is not a requirement for naturalisation so it shouldn't be a problem. They will ask for proof of residency though. Given that you are a non-eu national, your passport would have entry stamps so it should be enough to prove that you have been resident in the UK. If you want, you can includ...

I am just going by the official "Good character" guidelines. You received a Penalty notice for Disorder - Shoplifting (PND). FPNs and PNDs are given for criminal offenses but there is no admission of guilt. HO disregard these unless you have received numerous of these. You must declare it on your ap...

Re: Penalty Notice for British Citizenship – Good Character Requirement

Who issued the penalty? Was it a private company, council or the police? You must declare all Fixed penalty notices (FPN). These are usually issued by the police. It should not affect your application as it occurred 3 years ago and it is the only FPN (I'm assuming you don't have any others) on your ...

Re: Lettter requesting biometrics after UKVCAS appt

We (husband and I plus 2 kids) submitted our citizenship application in the beginning of November and then attended a UKVCAS Sopra Steria appointment to enrol our biometrics and check documents. We have received two letters today- one for each of the kids- to enrol biometrics at the post office. Bo...

Re: Naturalisation application - legal work under student visa

If you have been in the UK legally, it is unlikely that they will dig into the conditions of your tier 2 or student visa (for e.g. 20 hours limit) You would be surprised that they actually do. Sure they can - I am just saying that it is unlikely that they will ask somebody for a letter from a unive...

Re: Naturalisation application - legal work under student visa

There is no need to send any p60 and wage slips to cover the 10 years employment period. Just mention the employment start and finish dates in the application form. Thats what i did and got approved.Hope it helps. When u see a wild animal sleeping in a jungle. Your best bit is to don't disturb him....

yes it is better to scan each page of the document and upload. I tried self-uploading a file containing all pages of my passport but it was too big (Sopra system only allows 6MB per file). So when I went for my appointment, I asked the person checking my documents to scan my entire current passport ...

Just an update on this - UKVI have now updated their page. If you travel outside the “Common Travel Area” (CTA) before th...

Naturalisation application - legal work under student visa

I submitted my application for naturalisation a couple of weeks ago. I have just realized that some people have been rejected for working whilst on student visa, where the work exceeded 20 hours during term time. I have previously full-time worked during my student visa, although, I only worked afte...
