Re: EEA-(E)FM online application when EEA citizen already has DCPR?

Oh, no, I did not mean to suggest to claim a previous document was lost. In the EEA-QP form it never asks about previous applications, so it seems to me that you could simply apply again? Or if you've only done EEA-PR before for the DCPR, I wonder if you're explicitly forbidden from then later also ...

Re: EEA-(E)FM online application when EEA citizen already has DCPR?

Thank you! I've had a closer look at this in the mean time myself, and I noticed the home office website says that if you loose your registration certificate or document certifying permanent residence, you should apply for a new one; so presumably having had one before doesn't automatically mean the...

EEA-(E)FM online application when EEA citizen already has DCPR?

Hi all, Does anyone know if there's any way to use the online system for an EEA-EFM application for an unmarried partner, if the EEA citizen already has a document certifying permanent residence? Could the EEA citizen apply for the DCPR using the online form EEA-QP a second time, and include their n...

Fantastic news!!!! BRP card was ACCEPTED πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ
Congratulations!! If I may ask, was there anything the statement from your friends emphasised in particular? Or did they just confirm that they knew you and that you were a couple and living together?

Re: Citizenship through naturalisation and self-employment

I think that's what I put - no idea though if that's what they want.

Re: Citizenship through naturalisation and self-employment

It should be correct, I think, assuming you are a limited company director. But it's just my understanding, based on what HMRC told me about how to register to do my taxes. Maybe ask your accountant what your status is, to be safe? It does strike me as odd that they don't ask for proof of being a di...

Re: Citizenship through naturalisation and self-employment

I was in a similar situation and submitted my limited company's certificate of registration, at the advice of an immigration lawyer. My application is still pending though, so I don't know if it will be enough. Then again, as was pointed out, it's not strictly needed anyway. Minor point: If I unders...

Re: Overseas opposite-sex civil union for EEA(FM)?

I just _really_ don't like the idea of marriage. If it's the only way then there is no "hard" reason not to.

Re: Overseas opposite-sex civil union for EEA(FM)?

Ah, that's too bad. Would they potentially consider it as equivalent to a marriage? Could one argue that the recent supreme court ruling on opposite-sex partnerships should also imply that overseas ones ought to be recognised? Unfortunately we almost certainly wouldn't be able to meet the requiremen...

Overseas opposite-sex civil union for EEA(FM)?

Hi all, Does anyone know if a civil union / registered partnership between opposite-sex partners formed abroad (in a jurisdiction where that is possible), would be recognised for EEA(FM) immigration purposes in the UK? Everything I have found online seems to be a bit contradictory or ambiguous, plus...
