Re: First ever British Passport Online Application Process

if you apply fully online then no signature of anyone is needed. your referee does everything online too, same as you.
You can also print things out and send them off or have them checked at the post office which is more expensive and then you need a signature.

Re: First ever British Passport Online Application Process

The above is not entirely correct anymore. If you apply online there is no need to print anything.

You upload a photo directly and your referee gets an email to verify.

Once they have done it, the system gives you the address to send your documents (naturalisation certificate and passport) to.

Re: ** online application for Application for naturalisation **

have a look at the timeline thread. Unless there are any issues or queries you are very likely to have your British Passport within 2 weeks without an interview.

Re: Naturalisation application and NIP declaration

Mention it as it will be on your records by the time your application is considered.
It will not count against you, so you have nothing to loose by declaring it but if it is on you record and investigated and they then find our knew about it at the time of application you may be disadvantaged.

Re: About Refree for british naturalisation

its not explicitly on the list. Mainly the professional referee needs to be registered with/accountable to some external body. If he/she is a chartered software engineer then it should be fine.

Re: citizenship ceremony invitation and local council booking

You have 90 days to attend the ceremony (usual wait depends on the council) so there is no real rush to get this sorted. I am sure they will get back to you soon. If it is over the 90 days and their fault again they will rectify things.

Re: Interview - First Adult Passport after Naturalization

There is not a single mention of someone going for an interview in the passport timelines thread going back to January as far as I remember so I suspect the Home Office has improved their process and it is unlikely anyone is interviewed now.

Re: Naturalisation which is faster online or postal

Look at the timeline threads for a feel. There probably isn't a real difference but it seems like appointments with UKVCAS are in short supply at present.

Re: Date of HO received application

hi, I hope I can help with some of your questions 4) Proof of living? What documents to show this? - given that you have ILR I assume you are non EU and therefore your passport showing when you were here is enough 5) Proof of freedom from immigration time restrictions? My ILR residence permit? Yes 7...

Re: Have ILR but how to apply for BC without absence proof?

just do it like all the EU applicants, search the forum for more details but essentially include P60s or Payslips covering the relevant period. If you dont have those then council tax statements or letters from the NHS etc. I just submitted P60s for 5 years and my last payslip. You will still need t...

Re: Job offer outside UK whilst applying for BC

sba2019 - why did you come to the UK in the first place? You only need evidence of health insurance if you were a student or a "self sufficient person". If you came here to work then you do not need one as you were eligible for NHS care. You also need to bear in mind that you will have to attend you...

Re: British Passport - what after application?

I did the online application so got the number in my email. When they check in your application they text you with the number in it again. I suspect you will still get these texts even if you applied on paper. I had a phone call this morning regarding my application to clarify something so overall t...

Re: British Passport - what after application?

You will get a text from the HMPO when they "check in" your documents. I send mine on a Wednesday evening with recorded mail. They arrived Friday morning at 8am in Belfast. I got the text that my documents had arrived the following Monday around 5pm. I suspect you will get a text tomorrow or on Mond...

Re: PROOF OF LIVING IN THE UK AS AN EEA NATIONAL

I only submitted P60s and my last pay slip. My application was accepted.
You will need to submit something for any times you may have been unemployed, such as council tax bills.

There is no need to send extra letters or bank statements.

Re: British Citizenship Checklist

you can book the scanning and checking service at any time. I think you need to have uploaded your documents 3 days prior to the appointment for them to be checked. After you have paid you will go to the Sopra Steria website to book your appointment and any of the additional things. You can then upl...

Re: British Citizenship Checklist

I don't know what it adds. I doubt that someone who is qualified in immigration law reviews your application for the 30 GBP they charge so I suspect they look through it and tell you if documents are not legible... I personally do not see the point. The timeline for the application is hugely variabl...

1. no, but you need two actual photos for your referee forms which you then scan and upload (when using the new service) 2. you should be able to see months on your HMRC tax record which you can see online 3. just apply on 16/3 to be safe its unlikely to make any difference on how long your applicat...

yes, it's a completely different website and you can upload things as you go along before the appointment. It is only locked when you attend. There is a deadline a few days before if you use the document checking service for an extra fee. It's however not clear what that actually adds over the stand...

Re: Please Answer my Questions

hi, i just got my citizenship approved via EU-PR route. I only supplied P60s going 5 years back and my last (not all) payslips to show that I continue to be in work. I did not submit any other documents as proof of living in the UK so I suspect what you plan is overkill. P60s fro the period she was ...
