Re: British Citizenship Checklist

I don't know what it adds. I doubt that someone who is qualified in immigration law reviews your application for the 30 GBP they charge so I suspect they look through it and tell you if documents are not legible... I personally do not see the point. The timeline for the application is hugely variabl...

Re: making new application

1. no, but you need two actual photos for your referee forms which you then scan and upload (when using the new service) 2. you should be able to see months on your HMRC tax record which you can see online 3. just apply on 16/3 to be safe its unlikely to make any difference on how long your applicat...

Re: British Citizenship Checklist

yes, it's a completely different website and you can upload things as you go along before the appointment. It is only locked when you attend. There is a deadline a few days before if you use the document checking service for an extra fee. It's however not clear what that actually adds over the stand...

Re: Please Answer my Questions

hi, i just got my citizenship approved via EU-PR route. I only supplied P60s going 5 years back and my last (not all) payslips to show that I continue to be in work. I did not submit any other documents as proof of living in the UK so I suspect what you plan is overkill. P60s fro the period she was ...

Re: Advice on how I can withdraw online application

have a look around the forum, at least one person at their application approved despite being on holiday and it was assumed the home office took the biometrics as their date (although in the thread there was some lively discussion about this). Alternatively, why don't you make sure? It should be evi...

Re: Online Naturalisation application submitted & appointment booked

that all you need.

No need to print the application form and the only thing they want to actually see is your passport and potentially BRP. They will offer to rescan any of your documents if your own scans are not of good enough quality.

Driving in UK on EU licence after no deal

Has anyone got any information on driving (in my own car) in the UK after a potential no deal brexit? Has anyone any information how/if this will impact car insurance? I currently assume i will be able to drive for 12 months like a US citizen would. Does anyone know if I can get a learners permit an...

Re: TRAVEL - to Poland from UK

I am in the same situation. I think you need to make sure you have your passport (and it is valid) rather than just a national ID card and I have now taken out travel insurance in case of delays/cancellations/getting sick abroad. I don't think you need anything prior to 29/3 and you could hang on un...

Re: Almost applying Naturalisation- Confused & nervous about fines

You only need the signed form when you attend your UKVCAS appointment so make sure you only book this after your referee returns. Regarding your fines: I would strongly consider declaring all of them. They are unlikely to hold up your application (see guidance above), however you may be barred for 1...

Re: Do I have a chance?

Unfortunately citizenship by decent can not be passed on. This is obviously only relevant if you do not live in the UK and have no other way of qualifying. There are some subtleties to this which can read about here: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachme...

Re: enquiry on British Naturalisation

Your references sound absolutely ok. It is my understanding that your passport will serve as evidence of being in the UK. If you have the slip you are talking about just scan it in with a short note. If the home office wants more information then they seem to contact you. There also is a post in the...

Re: enquiry on British Naturalisation

5. why do you think you only have 5 days to book the appointment? I booked mine 13 days after without a problem.

6. There is a document checking service which costs 30 pounds. I am not really sure if this really adds anything though.

Re: BC refusal, no 12mths PR

no, a reconsideration just looks at your application to ensure the home office followed procedure.

You should have submitted your evidence with your PR application.

The home office guidance states:

We will not reconsider on grounds of:
• long residence, where the statutory requirements are not met

Re: BC refusal, no 12mths PR

It is my understanding that a reconsideration just looks at the facts you submitted with your previous application to see if a mistake was made (which in your case it was not). So I think you have to re-apply from scratch.

Re: Almost applying Naturalisation- Confused & nervous about fines

I think no one can give you a definite answer. The only thing you can do is disclose them and apply. The three offences references does not seem to be relevant to you though. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/770960/good-character-guidanc...

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

I attended my appointment in Croydon on 31/1/19 at 7pm. I arrived at 6.58pm went through security and was shown to the biometrics booth straight away. After I was done I met one of their employees to "check" my documents. There were no chairs to use while they were going through your documents which...

UKVCAS document "verification"

I attended my UKVCAS appointment in Croyden today. Overall the experience was quick and easy (at 7pm, arrived at 6.58pm) and I was out of there by 7.10. The lady who scanned my passport only did this and then said she will verify all other documents that I had uploaded including my University Degree...

Proof of living in the UK for EU Naturalisation

Dear forum members, I am an EU citizen applying for naturalisation. I have been living in the UK since 2007 and applied for a permanent residency card in 2017 which was issued in July 2017. I can not find the original letter that came with the card anymore but my permanent residency was confirmed fr...
