don't panic.

ask ur wife to get a new passport and then carry both the passport, that's it really. You don't need to transfer the visa. It is that simple.

it takes 3 weeks to get pio. also it cheaper.

suppose you apply oci for minor, it would cost £165
whereas if you apply for pio for minor, it is £110 and then to convert to oci you will charged £18.

peejay, the first line of the 2nd paragraph of the notice mentions that (though didn't mention the word 'before PIO/OCI appl'). I have spoken to HCI and they told that it has started only from 21st sept 09. but the funny thing is that the appl form for surrendering passport is not on the website yet...

Tech, For god’s sake please don’t give wrong information. The rule is either the applicant or his/her parents or grandparents was holding Indian passport after Jan 26, 1950, then the applicant is eligible to apply for OCI. Give the appropriate link for OCI application. http://hcilondon.in/oci.ph...
