Re: Extra copies of Naturalisation Certificate

It's just weird that the legislation explicitly doesn't allow certificate replacement, but gives you a letter which de facto is a certificate replacement.

Re: Extra copies of Naturalisation Certificate

I did a quick search and all of the few countries I checked (USA, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand) have a service for replacing the certificate of naturalization, which makes the fact that you can't do it here even more mysterious.

Re: Extra copies of Naturalisation Certificate

no extra copies are issued under any circumstances I wonder, how would that affect someone who lost the certificate. Is the "confirmation letter" sufficient in all possible situations instead of certificate? Why one can order a birth certificate if it's lost, but naturalized citizen can't order a c...

I never dealt with such platforms and I can only speculate that maybe yes, if you can use it as a bank account. But don't call me on that.
Maybe someone else with more knowledge on the matter can enlighten us here.

Re: Form 8 questions

You definitely are not going the get it back if it's a proof of residence. I think the only original document that they require is your passport. Even your birth certificate will also have to be sent as a copy, but certified as true to the original (and translated). There is no requirement for the p...

Re: Form 8 questions

Hey, - There's no need to add squares, just write the name with block capitals. - Person-id is given to you once you apply for citizenship. If you are applying for the first time you can skip that, or just write N/A in or near the field. - Well if you can't remember the exact street number, you coul...

Did not they say they will be sending the statutory declaration in 4 weeks after the minister announcement?
The claim for the 4 weeks came from a fellow forum member, not from the Government. Officially there's no time frame for it.

(I can't edit my previous post)

I've read the above link and it seems to me that the new measures will be for future applicants, but that's only my understanding and speculation.

Re: Citizenship ceremonies on 3rd July 2020

I don't think it's likely to have one big scale ceremony simply because it will be difficult to verify and track everyone attending. What we could possibly get is few smaller ceremonies like in Canada: Since April 1, Canada has held over 1,000 virtual citizenship ceremonies. https://www.cicnews.com/...

Re: Citizenship ceremonies on 3rd July 2020

Hi guys, I paid the €950 fee for naturalization on 29th of January this year, but didn't get an invitation for a ceremony, and then got caught by the COVID-19 crysis. Is there anyone else in my situation? It's been 4.5 months since I sent the money and there's no real timeline of when/if I will atte...

Re: Next citizenship ceremonies will be in Spring 2020

As someone stated before, they probably will start sending them 2-3 weeks in advance of the ceremonies. It's still too early.

Maybe they are waiting to get responses with payment of the fee from enough people first.

Roughly 6 months. I guess a big chunk of my lifetime luck allowance was spent to get it so fast. Anyw...

No communication after that till 2 days ago when I got the approval letter. So waiting as well can help, I applied Feb 2018 an...
