I second your thoughts mate, I was also under the impression that they would use the next day special delivery but my application reached them after 3 working days which clearly is not special next day delivery. Yes, they do bend the certificate without realising the value it may hold to some people...

there is no way to apply OCI online, it's just an online filling of application form, which you have to take a print-out to apply for OCI.

One of the required document is surrender certificate.

so there is no way you can apply them in parallel.

How do you know if you have done satisfactory in passport interview for them to issue you passport, do they tell you on the spot if they will not issue you passport? I managed to book an interview, the customer service guy said to carry some sort of identification proof (like utility bill no older than 3 months) with me, along with reference number and printout of interview confirmation...

No restriction on applicant presence post application, but obviously applicant would need to come back to UK to attend citizenship ceremony if naturalisation is granted.

Has anybody tried with Indian visa passport photos snapped from 'Boots' photo booth, they do mention indian visa but the size mentioned is 50 X 50 mm , whereas the OCI mentions 51 X 51 mm ... has anybody tried with it??
