Re: EEA National Traveling Outside EU with BRP Card Husband

I just came across something important to notice, which is probably what you have seen. Even though you can find the following text on the Settlement scheme, you need to read between the lines: https://www.gov.uk/settled-status-eu-citizens-families/what-settled-and-presettled-status-means If you ha...

Re: Please help,

In 2016 you applied as a homosexual, in 2019 you have a baby and applying as a father. To HO it would sound like you are lying all through your process. I don't know how the solicitor can be called stupid. Any solicitor will tell you exactly what he is doing. He only advises and wont do anything wit...

Re: Brexit Cancelled, What next for Settled (ILR) and Pre-Settled Status

"Appendix EU" was added to UK domestic immigration regulations by statutory instrument - the government said whatever happens they'll go ahead anyway, deal or no deal. Cancellation of Brexit is not on the table, not with the current government anyway. Very interesting. Does this "Appendix EU" also ...

Re: Already a dual citizen and applying for British citizenship. Documents needed help please.

Thank you for your reply! I’m doing the online application and they do ask to add all the nationalities I have. I think that, as you said, to avoid problems later is better to fix this at the consulate. Or maybe I can just cancel the passport as I don’t really use it, and update my name on my ID. H...

Re: How much does the average immigration lawyer charge to prepare your citizenship application

Immigration lawyers are a rip off. The form is lengthy but a lot of sections are not for everybody. In case you have a doubt, you should post your question here and you should get a response fairly quickly. With the experience of the moderators you will be guided well. Dont waste your money. BTW the...

Re: First passport for child born in India

Thanks for your prompt reply.
The child was born in India and has been living there since.
The father is a British Citizen since 2002, before the child was born (2010)
The mother is an Indian national and has never travelled to the UK.

First passport for child born in India

May I know which form is used to apply for a 6 yrs old child born in India?
It seems that the application is made only on paper (at least thats the only thing I find).
Can someone guide me through this please?

Re: Does my 9years old who is going to be 10years in April this year qualify for BC?

Being born in the UK does not have any bearing on citizenship. The parent's status at the time of birth is the criterion used. If either parent held ILR at the time of their birth they are eligible for citizenship. Otherwise NO.

Thank you CR001

Jus to be sure, you are suggesting that I don’t have to go through naturalisation and can apply for passport straight ?
What she is advising is to register the child and apply for a passport.

Re: Permanent Residence or ILR?

PR is the same as settled status if you are applying for citizenship before Brexit. So skip the step you plan for next week. Directly apply for citizenship.
You have to prove 5 years prior to date of application. If you apply on 30th March, you should be in the country on 31st March 2014
