Re: No Surname on Naturalisation certificate

This has been answered previously. Please search for it. Suggestion: Can we not have a section for Indian enquiries only? They keep spamming the forum with asking the same questions over and over again. I'm sure it's a cultural thing but I find it rather annoying. Wow what an attitude!!! Why is thi...

Re: Physical presence requirement

Your non EU passport should be stamped showing all your entries and departures. That is sufficient. No, I have not been getting any stamps on my passport. That is why i raised the question. Non EU passports are stamped on arrival and departure. I dont know how you did not get stamped. Its good to a...

Referee one professional (from list of accepted professions) the other British national both over 25 yrs of age. Hardly any GPs or health care workers are willing to sign. so there is a lot of flexibility.

Re: British Citizenship Refused - UK Registration Card not provided

Fair enough, I am human I make mistakes. You say only a few make mistakes. Do you have any numbers to back that claim? It's pointless to discuss whose fault is it but we can discuss the process and if it the process can be improved, why not? It is sad some people make this forum a debating chamber. ...

Re: Naturalisation Referees

Curious! Can someone living abroad even if doing business with a British company sign the referee form?? This is what it seems regarding the professional referee in this case. I would think not but the moderators would know.

Re: Early Citizenship

First HO does not entertain communication from 3rd party. Second, what passport would anyone request. You have to apply for naturalisation after one year of PR get naturalised and then apply for a passport. Whilst applying for naturalisation, you need to be in the country for specified periods. Perm...

Re: Long trip outside the UK AFTER application, advisable?

My personal opinion is No. Most applications take ~ 3 months. Further there is a possibility of receiving a letter asking more information/documents usually after 2 months if ever. That would require you ask someone to keep an eye on your mail. Also if your application is approved, you have 21 days ...

Re: British Citizenship Refused - UK Registration Card not provided

If you read the guidance notes, you will see all the requirements. There are 100s of people applying every day and a few do make mistakes. There could be a few corrections made like the colour of the card, but would it make a difference to those who cannot differentiate between a residence card and ...

Re: Sending in Foreign Passport fore UK passport renewal

Parents nationality is not important when renewing the passport of a child. They are now citizens in their own rights. The section about parents and grandparents names can be ignored. They need the foreign passport to ascertain that the name in the 2 passports do not differ. All the rest is irreleva...

10 years minus date of naturalisation application.
HMRC does give 10 years info.

They do but the OP does not want to wait the processing time.

Re: British citizenship ceremony photographer

Depends on the Council. Some councils allow you take photographer along as long as within the limit of guests. The problem is you will not be able to stop whilst receiving the certificate so be prepared to get it at the right moment. After completion of the presentation the mayor/MP does pose with t...

Re: National insurance number

It is very unlikely HO will search for your NI number. That is another department of government and they dont search details in HO itself. You have to provide it. I dont see why you cannot apply for that detail from abroad. After all HO is moving all information digital. They dont issue a card like ...

I am not so much defending HO case workers but advocating bending to the rules inorder to smoothen out the issue.
