I agree this is so frustrating that even being citizens now we r being deprived of a basic right of having a passport and not been able to travel for last so many months coz of this. Our local council secretory also did mention that they would normally get verification request from Italy but never got one from Ireland or UK or any other country so dont know if this something Irish has started as well or they have some other way.
Mine was same and I just confirmed with a friend of mine whos was same n not verified etc still his application got sorted within 4 weeks so I wonder r they randomly picking application to just delay them.

Yes Taki I reapplied about 3 weeks ago, this is the response to my new application. I havnt got the money back yet but I am not worried about it. U can reapply straight away dont wait for the refund to be fully processed first.

I have actually already done this. I lodged a complain few weeks ago even got a call from some senior staff member of local nadra who said its normally verified from local union councils and he said that the embassy will send someone to verify document(doesnt really make sense) anyway very frustrate...
I reapplied online and there was nowhere to mention previous application details and yes submitted everything just like the first time. Im not sure how they will link up with the previous application its just all a mess right now.

Taki they said the money will be refunded in 3-4 weeks but we dont need to wait for the refund and can apply straight away which I have and yes I have sent all original documents again including the Birth Cert, Passport and Naturalization Cert.
My online tracker shows that there is an issue with my application and an email has been sent. It doesnt state processing anymore. New application tracker is showing processing as usual.
Blessings123 your 6 months would be on 5th September so if they havnt received ur verification by than the system automatically cancels the application than.
Pak embassy said they received no request of verification so dont know where do dfa send there requests to
Sorry forgot to mention when I spoke to the DFA team they said you can reapply straight away just will have to pay fee again and previous fee will be refunded in few weeks so I have submitted a new online application again hoping they will receive my verification soon now.

I dont think they will ask us to reapply since the office was closed for quite some time during Covid.
