So I take it nobody has received affidavits this week? They hardly got through 4000 emails all last week
In RTE link I shared, Minister said that around 1100 will be receive affidavit in few weeks. I think after they do most processing for those they will send to another batch.

Re: Affidavits for approved applications and next ceremony

By having the new temporary legislation the State is still getting large sums of money while saving on the cost that would normally occur when holding large official ceremonies. then they would not put hard stop at may and possible next ceremony at December. Just looking at virtual ceremony example...

Re: Affidavits for approved applications and next ceremony

In the lights of prolongation of Level 5 lockdown, I have a feeling that if the COVID restrictions are not lifted after the initial 4000 applications are completed, these new arrangements will be applied to the current and future applications well beyond 31 of May. I have the same feeling. I am mor...

Re: Affidavits for approved applications and next ceremony

I wonder how long they will be sending affidavits out for? Any body get any yet this week? Minister said that 1100 will be send in next few weeks. Since there is a plan for 4000, I will say will be more coming. Probably till April, as it should be finished till end of may. https://www.facebook.com/...

Re: Pending decisions/approvals on applications from 16-17

I agree that there is no accountability for long waiting times. In some other countries it is more clear, and when period expires, it can only be maximum extended for some period of time as in NL for example https://ind.nl/en/Pages/decision-periods.aspx It looks they have easier procedure for EU nat...

So far they have requested for 3 Garda vetting certificates. Of course there is nothing in them. Whats the point of this useless exercise w...

Re: Affidavits for approved applications and next ceremony

I found a solicitor as well. The problem was to make a color copy of my passport. The solicitor didn't have a color printer and libraries are closed. Then I went through my old documentation pile and found a spare copy I did for my application. Lucky me. :) Print services are considered essentials ...

Now the problem is to find a notary public or a solicitor to witness who works during this time.
Many of them work on appointment basis.

Re: Affidavits for approved applications and next ceremony

I suppose the reason behind this decision is because it is a one off solution only for certain applicants. yeah, it looks only for 4K already approved applications. Other will be in possible proper December Ceremony. If ceremony will not be possible they might extend the same procedure in December.

Re: Affidavits for approved applications and next ceremony

Everyone has to check if the email addresses given in the application is correct so that we dont miss the email. Re: Affidavits for approved applications and next ceremony

It looks like it is happening. Can not find it yet on official inis site though: It is expected that 4,000 applicants currently waiting on naturalisation will have had an opportunity to gain citizenship by the end of March the Department of Justice said. "The process I am opening today means that cer...

Re: Last year before citizenship application

Yes, due to COVID as Stanina mentioned, they may make an exception. Make sure to provide sufficient evidence that it was a family emergency. But if you're not 100% confident just for wait 43 days to avoid a risk. In the last year you need to wait additional year from last 43 days travel window, not...

Re: Last year before citizenship application

It depends on the circumstances, from INIS FAQ
"Q102.I will be absent from the State due to COVID-19 travel restrictions or isolation measures, will this affect a Citizenship application?
A. A pragmatic approach will be applied in this emergency"

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

Some member of the forum paid 3500 Euros in legal fees(for both parties) in 2019 "The judicial review case in the end and my solicitor and barrister got leave of the court for me to do judicial review. Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

There was good recommendation in one of the posts on forum. If you decide to go to High court after FOI, ask a lawyer to write a letter to INIS that you will initiate court action in 4 weeks in relation on citizenship decision. In some cases it might save you time and money.

Re: Next Ceremony

There was good post from Markem with stats from 2018 based on forum timeline post. 75% received approval within a year. I guess some applications are just slip through the cracks. Non EU and Marriage took longer than other. https://www.immigrationboards.com/ireland/application-time-analysis-t274666....

It depends how lucky you are and who is processing your application I think. I applied in Sept 2018 and only was approved in February 2020, still waiting for ceremony or affidavit. Main criteria is Irish luck and possibly mobility, if you did not travel, worked at same job and stayed at same home yo...

It will be handy if they will send the affidavits together with the approval letters, so they can be sent back with the payment and other documents.

Although I prefer to have a full official ceremony.
Congrats on approval letter! Did it mention affidavit procedure in approval letter?

I think it will be till end of march, prior to the year of previous ceremony. Although anything could happen and it can be summer 2021 when there is less covid cases.

Re: Aplication acknowledgement not received after nearly 4 months

Would be interesting to know how many people are actually working on them. If it's in the single digits, then your estimation is generous to say the least. My application is as straightforward as it gets so hopefully it will be quick. The only criminal thing I've done is steal a cookie while I was ...
