Hi all. Long time lurker, first time poster here. I’m a UK applicant from early January 2020. Up to now I’ve just had the confirmation of receipt of documents sent email and nothing else. Re: Foreign Birth Registration

how do you all stay patient? I'm worried that because my dear mother lied about her age on official documents, and that her birth certificate reads "baby" Rock ( my grandfather was away and my grandmother did not pick a name without him there I suppose. Rock is the surname) and does not actually ha...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Your application is going through the Foreign Birth Registration process and this can take some time due to the complex nature of the process. You will be contacted by us when there is an update regarding your application. That's what they said to me。I wonder if I will miss the application Did you ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I think you didn’t need to send in all those documents aside from your parents FBR certificate. As in, did you send in previous generation certificates from grandparents and great grandparents? From my understanding if the previous generation is on the FBR then they don’t need to go further generat...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

My 1st-time paper passport application is finally showing a status of "Processing" in the Passport Tracker. However, the estimated issue date is 17 months away. Really hoping the system will recalibrate and shorten that time estimate. Good luck to all who are waiting. My timeline: FBR: Application/...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I think you have misunderstood the reason that applications are fast-tracked due to pregnancy. It's not a reward for having had sex, it's because if the prospective parent is not granted citizenship before their baby is born, that baby loses their entitlement to Irish citizenship forever. Well, per...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Yes I have complained about the delays, and yes I have tried to do something about it. The attitude of the Irish Government over FBA has been contemptuous beyond belief. They are now apparently only giving consideration to those having had sexual intercourse. This is both unfair and strange - for a...

Can someone tell me that your pregnancy certificates are all in English? After all, I live in China, and the pregnancy certificates in hospitals are all in Chinese.
Yes mine was in English. You'll have to get a verified translation sorted out before you send it.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi all! I sent in my documents / application in August 2019 and we are hoping that we wil...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Yeah this is what I feared to be honest. If you don't mind answering, what are the details they would require? Birth Certificate, Death Certificate, and Marriage? Can I get official copies sent to me or do I have to have the original documents, i don't know if that will be possible. Thanks regardle...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Thanks for the reply!

Was it accepted and all went well or are you still waiting?
Also, just looking at your post again. You should send off your grandparents documents as well as your dad wasn't born in Ireland so your claiming on the basis of a grandparent being born in Ireland.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

At the end of the day nobody knows anything because there has been zero communication regarding their thought process on how and when to reopen processing, so your advice to just sit tight and accept the situation is indeed a reasonable suggestion. But so is sending in documentation early, because ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I wonder if the majority of the Brexit related flood of apps are already submitted - perhaps with less demand, the wait times will reduce as they catch up? I think now that the Brexit transition period is over I would expect another rush unfortunately. There are hundreds of thousands/millions of el...

Hello all! Good news! I just submitted my online application for the passport through the online system. I believe today is the first day you can do so from the United States as a first time applicant. Didn't take very long, but will have to secure a witness to my application tomorrow. Best of luck...
