Re: FLR (M) Correspondence Proof Issue

I should also add that the items of correspondence are supposed to be reasonably spread out over the couple of years prior to the application and you should be trying to meet this requirement as best as possible. Having a bunch of correspondence dated for the month prior to the application may cause...

Re: FLR (M) Correspondence Proof Issue

If you're applying for FLR, realistically this is something you should have foreseen needing and had 2.5 years to get the required documents sorted. Not being able to demonstrate living together and meeting this requirement is a problem. The checklist in the online application form specifies the num...

Re: Will My Application Be Successful?

Yes, you will have to show you can meet the financial and accommodation requirements at each stage as the intent is typically to demonstrate that the non-British citizen can be supported without reliance on public funds. That said, once your wife has a visa, any income she earns in the UK can also b...

Re: Will My Application Be Successful?

Searching through this and other forums, it looks like there are examples of others who have applied with parents covering housing costs, so I'll walk back my previous statement a bit. Unfortunately, I cant find any cases where the original poster has come back indicating whether they have been succ...

Re: Will My Application Be Successful?

Because the rules are worded such that housing costs apply to a household that includes any other family members. Again, just how I interpret the guidance and I could be wrong. I assume HO would be concerned about a situation where your parents changed their mind or were unable to continue to provid...

Re: Will My Application Be Successful?

I'm not entirely sure I understand the question. The document linked below details the guidance on adequate maintenance including example calculations. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/452967/IDI_Adequate_Maintenance_and_Accommodation_Ap...

Re: Extend or ILR?

Good point, hadn't heard that before but it appears that is the case. I imagine the IHS fee would be refunded if you withdraw the application, which cuts down on some of the cost. Hopefully being able to keep the passport and not needing priority with an online application helps a bit though.

Re: FLR M - Overstayer - Income

You're welcome. The UKVI web page is not nearly as helpful or as organised as it probably should be and sometimes finding the right guidance document is a pain. While that situation won't hurt in a visa application and may help demonstrate shared responsibilities, it is unfortunately unlikely to hel...

Re: FLR M - Overstayer - Income

The document linked below outlines the required evidence to provide to demonstrate an ability to meet the financial requirement. The required evidence will depend on whether your friend is considered an employee or self-employed as a sole trader. They don't need to have a permanent job or to have wo...

Re: Extend or ILR?

Applications for an FLR(M) extension from within the UK are online and you don't have to give up your passport so you probably wouldn't need a priority application. Since there is no hard border between NI and Ireland (yet) there shouldn't be any issues travelling between the two even after you subm...

Re: Need help for spouse visa application

You work with Uber and 3 other companies or you work for them? You need to read the guidance in the link seagul posted very carefully to ensure you are able to prove the income through self employment as a sole trader or are a company director. For example, are these companies paying you as an indiv...

Re: Questions about online documents for flr m?

- do all the pages of the passports have to be scanned ? ( most are blank !) I only scanned pages with something on it (data, stamps, etc.) with the thinking they can ask for the rest if necessary. Can't confirm yet whether this is a successful strategy yet, but can't hurt scanning every page either...

Re: Married UK EXPAT who wants to take me home.

Depending on your age and other circumstances, if you aren't entirely sure you want to settle in the UK permanently and want to give it a trial run for a couple years, the Tier 5 Youth Mobility Scheme visa is cheaper, faster and easier to apply for than a spouse visa. With this you can also switch t...
