Re: Cohabitating: foreign sources

You will be advised to keep all of your questions in one thread for the sake of continuity. Assuming this is for FLR(M). It is not explicit in the rules (that I can find) that the co-habitation evidence must be from UK sources. However, I would recommend only using UK sources of evidence. As part of...

Re: Proof of Finance from 2 different Banks

Providing an explanation in a cover letter can't hurt but you shouldn't have any issues if you are providing statements from 2 different banks as long as the documents used as evidence meet the requirements for each bank.

Re: Understanding Visa Expiry Date

The visa expiry date is the date noted on the BRP. 33 months is the length of leave to enter/remain granted for the first spouse visa if applied for from outside the UK. Extensions or Further Leave to Remain (FLR) is granted for a period of 30 months (2.5 years). General suggestion is to apply for a...

As it's also a complaint about service and professional conduct rather than only the decision, you could try this email as well: https://www.gov.uk/government/organisat ... -procedure

Re: Refusal based on lack of evidence (although the evidence was supplied)

I have seen anecdotal reports that some people have been successful in having the decision overturned simply by emailing HO and demonstrating that the documents HO claimed were missing were in fact provided with the application and this was somehow missed by whoever had reviewed the application. Thi...

Re: Cash saving route

Assuming the council tax benefit is being claimed legally, there will be no impact on your visa application. A council tax bill/statement is an optional piece of evidence to help support ownership/occupation of the residence. It's irrelevant who's names are on the council tax bill and entirely unnec...

Re: What options available ??

The 'short visa' would be one of the visitor visa categories or a short term study visa. If the person is doing PLAB or OSCE, it is definitely a visitor visa. Fair. Also thought it could potentially be the Tier 5 Medical Training Initiative scheme, which is for 2 years, but a visitor visa certainly...

Re: FLR (M) application questions

2) in regards to bank statements, do you think I can use online statements (as some internet bankings allow you to download your statements in .pdf and ready for upload) or I have to scan originals that came through post? 3) my wife has received new passport in July. Do we need to scan her passport...

Hi
What options are available for a British citizen to marry or get into civil partnership with a non eu national who is visiting UK for medical training on a short visa?
You will have to clarify what type of visa the non-eu national is currently on as it will affect the answer.

Yes, sorry, should have clarified that a bit better. I had assumed their intent was moving to the UK from Israel together (i.e. at the same time) without specifying that.

Re: Spouse Visa

I am only quoting from the immigration rules. However, based on the guidance linked below, you can't have any records of non-custodial sentences in the 3 years prior to the application date for British nationality (i.e. citizenship by naturalisation) as it would result in a failure to meet the good ...

Re: Uk spouse visa - question

No problem that he has lived outside of the UK for a while. There is no requirement that the British citizen be resident in the UK for a spouse visa application. You may have to be careful how you document his employment however as the financial requirements need the British sponsor to already be re...

Re: Spouse Visa

There is no shorter extension you could apply for or a longer spouse visa, though you could apply for another 2.5 year period of FLR(M) rather than ILR as there is no rule stating you must apply for ILR after 5 years. Out of curiosity, where did the 3 years from receipt of the non-custodial sentence...

Re: FLR (M) application questions

A cover letter isn't a required document for FLR(M) applications. That said, I typed up a short one trying to provide a clearer explanation on some circumstances that may have come off as confusing and uploaded it on the UKVCAS site with the other supporting documents. Whether it was read or had an ...

How long did the process take from start to end
With the standard service it was pretty much exactly 8 weeks from the date of application to the date of the decision letter, which is as advertised on their website. There's an FLR(M) timeline thread with additional example timelines.

Re: Best route to obtain a UK visa for spouse

Try not to get overwhelmed by the experience of others as everyone's circumstances are unique. If you meet the requirements and can demonstrate this with documentation, the process is not as difficult as it may seem.

Re: Confused with consent form for spouse visa

When I did it I sent Part 2 signed and sent Part 3 blank or wrote "Not Applicable" across it and I had no issues. I think they just want to confirm they aren't missing something they should have and having Part 3 included, even if blank, helps demonstrate that.

Re: Unmarried partner visa, time apart Hong Kong

They wouldn't grant her a youth mobility scheme visa on the basis of her living with a long term partner, they would grant it on the basis of meeting the requirements for that specific visa (the relationship doesn't factor into the requirements for this visa). This is the same route I took to get in...

Seagul may have a reference otherwise, but I don't think it falls under the category of "necessary" though it would be a good thing to do for a number of reasons, particularly for proving you have adequate accommodation under your ownership. Honestly, it looks a bit confusing if you say you're livin...
