Re: Tourist Visa - Rejection

Now that you already got two rejections, you need to be very careful on what you submit next. Main focus for you is to prove that your mother-in-law has rock solid ties with her home country and has more reasons to return rather than to stay with you and your wife. What did you provide so far? You ...

Same here - baby is due before 1/04, so I’ll probably have 3.5 months instead of 3. Not sure if this is feasible

Re: Hotel Quarantine (10 days)

From the experience of other countries, non-residents won’t be allowed at all. I doubt UK citizens will have less rights than non-residents - this just doesn’t make sense.

This is all pure speculation of course

I’m also going to submit a copy with of my drivers license and utility bills as they have the address. Should I get these authenticated/notorised? No. Does anyone know if your partner is from a foreign country and they have to submit their passport... does this some way need translated into English...

Or they are only checked at fingerprints appointment? I have submit my biometric info today. I have uploaded all documents myse...

My advice is to do everything possible for her to qualify for Irish passport, then leave ROI. Otherwise she will need to start from scratch in UK.

Provisional Driving Licence

Hi everyone, I just applied for provisional driving licence online and I received a request to send my ID to DVLA. I'm holding non-EU passport and EEA2 Family member card. It is not quite clear from the instructions if my BRC is enough (list only mentions BRP ie UK law cards) or shall I be sending m...

Re: EU Settlement Scheme Family permit and right to work

I know employers now who wouldn't accept a German or a French passport as proof of work in the UK. They are ask to see EU Settlement Scheme email too. Well unfortunately that is unlawful. A french citizen has the right to work in the UK without a Presettled or Settled status until June 2021. If the...

Re: Lost BRC rejected application

You'll need to submit biometrics, and given this service is closed for now, it can easily take way longer than 6 months. There is no option for you to apply for settlement scheme until lockdown is lifted. I agree. There seem to be a problem with both routes: EEA card application is a physical one a...

Re: COVID19 Visitor Visa Expiry on 8th April 2020. Travel Restriction and now stuck??

I'm a bit confused. There is an announcement about this COVID-19 related visa extension, but only tier visas are mentioned. Is this simply because visitor visas are out of scope of this forum? We have a visiting relative (on a standard visitor visa that expires on 19th April 2020) here in UK. We ha...

Re: EEA settlement scheme for Non EEA Parents

I doubt Home Office have any real-time capability to link one type of visa application to other applications. Even if they did, a Standard Visitor Visa or Family Visa has very different rules/criteria for acceptance and gives the holder very limited rights i.e. to only visit (as opposed to an EU Se...

Re: HO processing time for EEA Residence card application during Covid 19

I wouldn’t do that. Your husband has EUSS card, right? Applying under the circumstances makes no sense. We are stuck on the island for some months, so Europe is out of question till July? September? Secondly, look what HO is saying. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/eu-settlement-scheme-app...

Re: Can’t enter UK within 30 days due to coronavirus

Many thanks for responses so far - seems like we are going to have a wait and see what happens over the coming weeks. Regarding the accomodation requirement, this was done using my mother’s address, however, as she is in her 70’s it is far from ideal for us to both move in there at the current time...

Hello, my US-based wife has been granted a spouse visa to join me in the UK. She needs to enter the country within 30 days, so by 24th April 2020. She has already had one flight cancelled as a result of the pandemic. I am also concerned that if she does make it over, we will struggle to find somewh...
