Re: Does Ireland have the laxest citizenship requirements of any European country?

I'm not originally from Ireland but obtained citizenship through one of my parents. It was quite simple. They were here only 5 years and I got it 1 and a half years later. Many friends I know who have emigrated to places like Austria and Switzerland talk about having to wait 8 to 10 years before ev...

Your application has now been initially assessed and has proceeded to the second stage of processing.
This statement indicates you were moved to the second stage for those asking frequently about content of second stage letter.

This was very helpful. Thanks Everyone. I forgot to mention that while away from Ireland, I will still be employed in state, on Irish payroll and working from home. But reading through replies it looks like it wont make a difference. You can have a job or own a property, but if you're not living he...

Re: Travelling after applying for Citizenship

You will need to notify INIS if the travel is more than 6 weeks even after you applied for citizenship. If it is essential travel they might give it exemption. I agree with you, although he wants personal experience, I think in 6 months he will get his passport back so he can apply, and then notify...

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

Shelter, I think it is a positive response, to my knowledge FOI is a right, and you should get it, but I think of it in another way and positively, they mean you will no longer require your file as you will get a decision even before the specified period, they told you previously that your applicati...

Re: Pending decisions/approvals on applications from 16-17

All I am saying is, that I believe that a decision on whether or not to grant a citizenship to a foreigner is much quicker when the applicant is an EU citizen. That is for reasons I have described and also because the checks on EU level tend to work out much faster than on international level. Mart...

Re: Pending decisions/approvals on applications from 16-17

While I understand that the process is long, confusing and frustrating, let's clarify one thing. It is pretty obvious that, in the majority of the cases, the application process for EU citizens is way shorter than for non EU applicants. And it should be. Reasons? Firstly, the EU applicants do not b...

In addition if you were number 8000 in the queue it would be far better than to withdraw and re apply and again only to be number 27000 in the queue.

Re: Withdrawing citizenship application

The minister can wave 2 years from the 5 years when you apply as a spouse of an Irish citizen, but it is not called an Irish association, generally in your case it is one ifthe fastest ways, but I think the current situation and last year problem contributed to this delay and I am sure i the next sh...

Why do you search for difficulties for yourself and the others in the fututre. You may be searching for problems and th...
