Re: Citizenship ceremonies on 3rd July 2020

I wonder if everyone is still getting the funny and stupid ''continues to be processed'' emails or has anyone got any indication that their application is on advanced stage or waiting to be submitted to the Minister etc? Anything different? Hi there, My application has been on ‘advanced stage’ for ...

Re: Citizenship ceremonies on 3rd July 2020

I guess you are right. What else can we do if INIS only want to do it the difficult way, other than dragging them to the court. This is just so ridiculous and shameful for INIS to do such things and delay applications on purpose while the declared time is only 6 months and applicants are waiting fr...

Re: Citizenship ceremonies on 3rd July 2020

This is just ridiculous the way DOJ / INIS are working and treating us. If they are only waiting for people to go to high court to get a decision on their application, this already shows you how inefficiently this dept is being run and how discriminating these people have got. Copying and pasting em...

Re: Citizenship ceremonies on 3rd July 2020

Good news. Virtual Ceremonies are the only solution as I had said in the very beginning. All they need now is to clear the backlog ASAP. Just to give an update to everyone: My FOI request suggests that Garda Vetting and everything is done. All I now need is an approval. Applied in September of 2018...

Re: Citizenship ceremonies on 3rd July 2020

New Minister for Justice HelenMcEntee was elected. Let' give her few weeks to get up to speed and hopefully, there will be some decision on citizenship ceremony. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helen_McEntee https://www.independent.ie/irish-news/politics/helen-mcentee-and-catherine-martin-among-six-w...

Yeah in that case you should be fine with immigration. As long as you can convince the airline, you should be okay.
Cool. thanks for all your help.

Re: Stolen GNIB card

Looks like in my case, I don't really need to apply for any visa as my card has not expired and the validity of it is actually until 2025 (10 Years Residency Visa). I already have the visa, but I don't have the IRP. The only problem might be from the side of the Airline, but the Garda Lady said that...

Re: Stolen GNIB card

Gnib card is a registration certificate not a visa nor an ID card. In case if the Gnib card is lost or stolen the passenger can travel with their visa stamp but they would need a police certificate. Airlines do ask for a GNib card but stamp may suffice. The only hassle is explaining the circumstanc...

Re: Stolen GNIB card

I know it’s bureaucratic craps, but no, airlines are asked to accept only certain documents. Stamps in the passport aren’t one of them. (It’s much easier to forge a stamp in your passport than a visa or an IRP card.) You might be able to convince the citizenship office, but I wouldn’t try my luck o...

Re: Stolen GNIB card

1. If you lost it in Ireland, you will need to apply to GNIB for a new one; if you lost it in a foreign country, you will need to obtain a visa from the embassy before you are allowed to travel to Ireland. Airlines will not allow you to board the plane if you do not have either a visa or an IRP car...

Stolen GNIB card

I was just wondering if someone's GNIB card is lost of stolen, can they travel without it and with the report from Garda?
Also can they get their citizenship approval by submitting the Garda report instead of the GNIB card along with the draft and pics etc?

Kindly verify your information before you start spreading lies please. INIS have been fair and effective the best way they can with the citizenships. Re: Citizenship ceremonies on 3rd July 2020

I find it funny how people can tolerate this type of treatment from INIS and still say that all that INIS is doing is fair. Having a backlog going back as far as 2016/2017 is fair? Wow! This is ridiculous. You guys seriously have your wit withdrawn from you. All those who get their approvals start l...

Re: Citizenship ceremonies on 3rd July 2020

INIS is a very inefficient department I must say.
My friend said that his mother lives in Canada and her citizenship was sent to her address back in March due to COVID-19 and see..... they are still not sure what they are going to do here. How silly....
I am really disappointed.

Re: Citizenship ceremonies on 3rd July 2020

An e-ceremony seems to be the only solution. If INIS are working from home, they should really consider the idea of an online ceremony.
