For me it took around 20 days from getting the email to confirm the address to actually get my passport back and that was earlier this year when things were a bit faster. You won't get a tracking number but the post man will ring your doorbell to make sure you are there to receive your passport.
That's really devastating to read but in fairness seems to be today's average time from seeing people's timelines here (I mean, even the passport returns are now taking 4 months). Before I think it was 6 months and I don't think many people got everything sorted in 6 months after the events of 2019....
It is 6 weeks per year. I don't think they have a legal definition of whether this 6 week period applies to calendar year or the fiscal year starting from the day you submit your application.
