Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Didnt they include a tracking code? It seems they always send a tracking code when the post it. I heard of people who got registered much, much earlier than the congrats email. Usually on same day of address confirmation, they would have actually entered you into their database

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

The email they sent you, read the bottom of it. Sometimes they ask only for a scan. Dis they ask you to confirm your address too?

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Yes, 30k applications to be cleared. If you never lived in Ireland before, its hard to understand why public servants are so slow and only ramp up when you talk to them in person. Its a common practice in Ireland to delay things.. “why rush” is in their blood.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Clarification question: Once my husband is on FBR, can my adult children apply for citizenship? We are going round and round in the family and I would like to hear if someone has gotten their adult children onto the FBR this way. It would be great to have that open to future generations. To him? No...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Just had an email asking for address confirmation.. :o .. (it went into my junk box - soo glad I checked ) Applied in July 2019. Congratulations!! Seems like they are processing only final approvals (where no document handling is happening). At least we sniff work progress. Nowadays I keep my eyes ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Good to see a progress - although it’s obvious that someone runs through the system where only approval need to be processed as all documents are in the office hence the lack of real work. Im around your time but never got anything (my Application is straight forward and doesnt require verification ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Wow, this is sad. Out of curiosity, what is the email address they sent to you from so I add it to safe list.

What you can do is to respond to that email/clarification by post saying you received it in spam hence you messed it. Am sure many mentioned the spam story so nothing new to fbr team.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Just an update (or lack of it). Applied May 2019 for my kids, documents received May 31, 2019. Got an email on October 19, 2020, demanding I send updated photos within 28 days or they would cancel the application (never mind that I live 3,000 miles away and there is a global pandemic). I sent them ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Just got my FBR through after 18 months, but it has got me thinking about my kids. . . . I had assumed as my farther was English and my mother was also born in England, but has recently gained Irish citizenship via her Irish parents, whom I also gained my FBR through, that they were not entitled to...

Re: Court order ageins Department of justices

I personally wouldnt come near court unless I get a negative response. Your case now would be taken too personal. Hopefully they keep it professional although I doubt because they tend to delay for unreasonable time and for unnecessary reasons

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

The e-mail I received from them on the 23rd Dec said that the office would be closed during the level 5 restrictions. They said my certificate and documents wouldn't be posted back to me until the office reopens again so I think they are not working. Thanks for the info and fingers crossed you get ...
