Re: Naturalisation - how are years calcuated?

I'm not asking WHAT can be used for proof of address, that information is already detailed in the form. I'm asking HOW are the years of residence calculated. If you are a non-EU citizen you need to submit the residency calculator. It will be based on your stamps in your passport and once you submit...

Re: Naturalisation - how are years calcuated?

If you arrived in say June of 2019, can you claim 2019 as year 1, then 2020 as year 2 etc? Or is a year calculated like this: June 2019 through to June 2020 (Year 1). June 2020 through ...

Re: Affidavits for approved applications and next ceremony

Is this virtual ceremony essential? No. You are an Irish citizen from the day you got your naturalisation certificate. The virtual ceremony is purely for ceremonial purposes and has no legal effect. (In contrast, a live ceremony pre-pandemic is legally binding and applicants must attend it to be re...

Re: Naturalisation refused after 3 years application

Were you granted refugee status as a protection? (Unsafe to travel) Some refugees are allowed to travel (temporarily) on special circumstances. What was the purpose of your travel and your refuge status? Well in that time I didn't travel straight to my country as in my travel Documents it’s says yo...

Re: Affidavits for approved applications and next ceremony

I note that you applied in March 2020? You're so lucky. I applied in February 2020 and got second letter in 2020. Fingers crossed.. Congratulations :D Thank you. I applied in March of 2020, but only received my passports back in August (five months later!), and got my second stage letter in Decembe...

Re: Calculating ansense is it Calendar Year or Year backward from application date

Hi, Based on the information that i received from citizenship department via email, it is per calendar year. also based on this reply, it seems that if your work absences are not for a period longer than 6 weeks in a year, that means you dont need to explain them or list them. " Thank you for your ...

They can only consider revoking a certificate if you have lived out of state for more than 7 years without declaring your intention to retain your citizenship. Hi, ...
