I have so far received an acknowledgment letter, I can see a long number there - "IL" followed by 10 digits. Is this the righ...

You need to build your case as per earlier suggestions... maybe if the employer can testify that you were on the same 'project work' throughout the period and had to go to India otherwise the project would have failed, etc., and then you've arrived back to UK after finishing the activity... this may...

Yes, I read this guidance too and hence the confusion. Previously, the Family Visitor visa route was the way to go, but with this guidance, not sure where it stands.

Anyone have first hand experience of applying post 9 July please?

Speak to a lawyer... you have already been advised by the forum that the Case Worker's comments are correct. Only a qualified lawyer can help you conjure up reasons to get the judgement reviewed.

If the employer cannot certify the accuracy of the information (salary) paid to their own employee, then what's the point in using it as evidence. UKBA gets a letter from employer stating that we (the employer) cannot certify that we are telling you the truth (about the applicant's salary payouts)!...

I forgot to add - you must have a plausible reason for applying for a 10 year visit. First time visitors generally get a 6 month visit visa.

What is this letter being used for? I mean, is this one of the two sources for past earnings? Or is it for meeting some other criterion?

OP's post does sound very confusing.... nevertheless you have to apply from the country where you are a legal resident. Have a look at the UKBA website and you should get an answer to your question. If not, come back here with more details as requested in previous post and we'll try to help.
