Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Two very different things. Brexit has nothing to do with FBR. If Brexit has nothing to do with FBR then someone should definitely tell Simon Coveney, he mentions it as the most important factor, causing the backlog in every update (next to covid) Due to the complex nature of the Foreign Birth Regis...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I'd agree, can't be a coincidence that Brexit went into effect Jan 31,2020 and January and February have seemed to take a very long time. Seemed like they were working on December and January for months and months months. I also seem to remember that at the time (back end of 2019) - the Irish Gover...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

As a Feb/March 2020 applicant, can confirm brexit was the main factor. While friends joke with me its about getting a passport to jump a few queues - and I will laugh along with them - for me it has been quite a personal decision to modify my nationality and thus identity. I can't be the only one w...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Yes, I will share what little I know. I mailed the docs on 02/10/2020 using USPS Express International. I never received a confirmation from the FBR that they were received but it was confirmed through the USPS tracking and return receipt dated 02/17/2020. I heard nothing until the email asking for...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Just got through on the phone after getting fed up waiting (28 months, 17 days) Asked for an update for a Feb 2020 applicant. I was told that they are currently working on January 2020 and have been for a few months.... They said they had no other information to provide at this time. Feels like a ki...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

He advised I take my late July trip on my U.K. passport and have everything ready so that the second I’m back I submit my application, and that yes my original U.K. passport must be part of that, not a notarised copy. You might be better on the First Time passport chat as I have seen many other peo...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I also received a call from DFA informing me that everything is in order, so I suspect I should be receiving a congratulations email shortly. I asked about timelines to receive the certificate, and I was told they're averaging 4 weeks to receive the certificate by registered mail. Good to see the p...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

According to my calculations and a lot is based on guesses and estimates, you are looking at the second week of July for your approval. Probably around July 9th. Let's see if I'm right Congrats and lets see if we can start figuring out estimates for people. This is very, very impressive! Whats your...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I don't think they've increased their speed. Coveney simply changed the time window in which he's describing (probably to make the number of processed applications seem larger). On 14th June 2022, he says 5500 applications processed "to date this year"; as in from January 1st to June 14th. On 30th ...

This is great news. Where did you find this information? Thank you here you go: https://www.kildarestreet.com/wrans/?id=2022-06-30a.446&s=fbr#g448.r Good website to keep an eye on, searching for FBR - the only place to find info outside of this forum :D Interestingly - 'IF' (and of course big word....

Update on Kildare Street today...

They seem to have processed 1,500 applications in 3 weeks (since 18th June) (up from our estimate of 900/1,000 per month)
Actually, that update was posted on the 30th June - so in around 2 weeks - this means they might be on for 3K a month!!

They seem to have processed 1,500 applications in 3 weeks (since 18th June) (up from our estimate of 900/1,000 per month) The processing of Foreign Birth Registration (FBR) resumed in November 2021. FBR staff have since processed over 7,000 FBR applications while al...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Curious if anyone has tried to call them and get an actual status? I myself am approaching 29 months. I tried to call them a lot last month (got through zero times, listened to the recorded message a lot), then I realised that calls to ROI are not included in my plan, so I'll be trying that option ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Shout out to Feb 2020 applicants. Has anybody seen progress? Still seems very slow, the closer we get to mid-feb, the longer it seems to take (can only guess that it's due to sheer volume of applications in Feb) - I think 11 Feb is the latest approval I have seen (except that one random approval mo...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Actually Im pretty sure my grandmother's birth wasn't registered, (we're talking around 1925) so I cannot find a record of her when looking online. She doesn't have an official birth certificate but she has a baptism certificate and a certificate from the county she was born in which states her bir...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I am curious how many applications for each month received there are, because that way we can best figure it out. A monthly breakdown will give some transparency and will help those based on the 1000 per month know when they will be getting an email. Yes, I agree. It would be excellent to have this...

What chat did you try? Last time I looked the FBR chat wasn't even showing up on the page for me. If you could send me a link to the page with the chat function I'd greatly appreciate it. Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Curious, has anyone from late January - February 2022 called the FBR phone number and asked for an update? They announced a 2 year approximation a few months ago, and seems like many of us are now approaching 28 and 29 months. Has anyone called? Seems reasonable to simply ask for an update I would ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

1) Birth, death and marriage certificates are a matter of public record. Anyone can buy a copy of anyone’s. If you want a copy of Madonna and Guy Ritchie’s marriage certificate, you can have it ordered online within about three minutes. Point being that for me, rather than spending five months begg...
