Transitional arrangements for HSMP to Tier 1?

With the transitional arrangements for HSMP approval letter holders, it is stated that the application for entry clearance will be under Tier 1. HSMP was for 2 years and Tier 1 is for 3 years. How many years will be granted when applying for entry clearance under Tier 1 with a HSMP approval letter? ...

Visa status. Is there a need to tell prospective employers?

When applying for jobs, is it advisable to tell prospective employers of my visa status? For example, tier 1 or hsmp visa and the duration it's valid for? Is it even necessary? It is worth mentioning that the valid visa to work has been obtained, but how much detail is required and at which stage of...

Residency requirements on a permanent visa?

I'm pretty new to all these and was wondering if someone can tell me what the residency requirements are for a permanent residence visa, if any? For someone who does not intend on applying for citizenship. For example being resident in Australia for 2 out of the initial 5 years? Or is that solely fo...

It's unlikely that they'll visit you. Perhaps a call to your employer to check that the information that you have provided is true?

Enter within 6 months?

I have received some rather disturbing and contradicting responses from the UK Border and Immigration Agency and my local VFS centre, which handles the processing of UK visas. The HSMP approval letter is valid for 6 months and states that it must be used to apply for a UK visa within that period. Mu...

Yes, it is but you would have to meet certain requirements yourself. You'd also have to provide documentation concerning the sponsor and evidence that the two of you are related.

Sponsor has received social welfare benefits?

Under the Skilled - Sponsored by a relative, subclass 176, if the sponsor has received social welfare benefits, will it affect the visa application? Haven't really asked her for the details as it's a somewhat private matter but am aware that she has received benefits in the past. Despite that, she s...

I'm not sure about remittance, but it seems that if your salary slips and letter from your employer have the company's name on it that will do. Is your employer's name as stated on those documents the same as the name of your foreign employer?

Visa application. Does being employed or unemployed matter?

When applying for a visa to enter the UK on HSMP status, there is a section 'Current finances and employment' on the application form. I was wondering if it makes a difference if the applicant is employed or unemployed? Then again, employed full-time or employed part-time? Does it matter? I'm employ...

The other thing that you may need to consider that govt is proposing to change the citizenship rules in the near future. Based on the proposals, the ILR will not be granted after 5 years. Instead there will be two routes... one will be to take up the probationary citizenship for at least one year a...

University fees with LTR?

Hi,

I'm pretty new to all these and was wondering what kind of university fees a non-EU national with LTR would have to pay if intending to enter Irish universities? Would it be the same as Irish citizens?

Thanks!

Thanks for the advice. I hope that everything works out for you. I would like to add though, that your visa should still be valid and you can continue to apply for jobs from ecuador if you still want to. Might get something interesting!

Thanks Nshar1. Yes, that's a great idea. We should compile a list of good and unscrupulous agents here.
