Career path for spouse

Once my husband's visa is (hopefully) approved we are thinking about what work is best for him in the UK. Long term our aim is for him to be his own boss whether that's freelance or running a small business. We are looking at skill based work like automotive mechanic, electrician or photography/vide...

Re: Help needed booking TB test - Pakistan

Thank you so much mate. Could you also tell me, is the TB test certificate emailed to you or they give a paper copy? My wife is in Pakistan so will she need it to post the certificate to me via email? It's a paper copy given on the same day as the test. I uploaded all the documents online so we jus...

Re: Help needed booking TB test - Pakistan

Our visa application was submitted this month (from Pakistan). To book your TB test you email uktbappointments@iom.int They then send you an automated response asking for your details. Once you do that they usually reply back in 3 days to confirm your appointment. Thank you so much, urizwi. Could y...

Re: Spouse Visa (self submitting)

Oh right! I was so worried that maybe the staff overlooked it. Maybe it's for those who submit the documents at the centre. I also uploaded all docs online.

Have you heard back from them since?

Re: Spouse Visa (self submitting)

I just found out from my husband that the VFS staff did not take the Document Checklist at the appointment. They returned it to him without asking him to sign or signing it themselves. Aren't they supposed to keep it?

Re: Spouse Visa (self submitting)

Thank you, I just told them the genuine reason in my cover letter. My husband had his biometric appointment yesterday. Should we be expecting a confirmation email? Or is there no communication until a decision has been made. I was hoping there would be some way of tracking the application but my VFS...

Re: Spouse Visa (self submitting)

Question about chat history. First a little background. Our relationship started in 2014 (long distance) and we finally got married in November 2018. We lived together for a total of 1.5 years and we also have a child. I have facebook chat logs dating back from 2014-2017. However there is nothing fo...

Proof of ownership if owned or tenancy agreement if renting
Letter of No objection from the landlord if renting or letter from parents if owned.
Council tax if there's one.
Great thanks!

Re: Spouse Visa (self submitting)

I'm not sure if I've fulfilled the accommodation requirement. I'm living with my parents in a 3 bedroom house (plus 2 sitting rooms downstairs). Including myself and baby there are a total of 5 people in this house (and I think a baby under 1 doesn't count, so 4 then?). From what I've read house is...

Can someone help with the passport question please.
For sponsor, biodata page alone is sufficient.
For applicant, upload all pages of your passport.
Thank you!

Re: Spouse Visa (self submitting)

Thanks.

What about passports?
My husband (applicant) will be submitting his passport at the appointment. Apart from the biodata page does he have to upload the whole passport including blank pages?

And the same for my passport. Only the biodata page or whole passport?

Re: Spouse Visa (self submitting)

When submitting photos is it better to add them one at a time or to compile them in a pdf file with annotations and dates?

Btw I asked a solicitor about the TB test issue. They said it is fine as long as it is valid. At least we know now.

Hi is there a thread on here about how to upload documents on the VFS site? What document should go to which category.

Thanks.

I appreciate your help! If anyone can clarify points made about accommodation that would be great.

Regarding the TB test I'm now tempted to withdraw the application altogether...

Re: Spouse Visa (self submitting)

The TB test would still be valid as it expires after 6 months. I just hope it's not an issue that the certificate was issued after the submission. Upon completion of the application, the further actions page tells the applicant to check if they need to do a TB test. This means that it is fine and ex...
