Re: E vetting and citizenship application

"Disclosure Viewed" today. I guess e-vetting completed. Got the email for eVetting today. So basically 3 and a half years later, its I who will apply for my vetting. What a joke of a Service ... And these guys are get paid for such incompetence I have received the e-vetting letter on 4th October dat...

Re: E vetting and citizenship application

No you dont have to sign anything until the department send you a letter with a form NVB1 or 2 to fill in and send back to them. Is that mean that anyone submits his application before 2021 need to send this consent?? I submitted my application in 2020 so I didn't have to sign anything related to e-...

Re: E vetting and citizenship application

Yes I am venting frustration. The contempt I have for this department is immeasurable. And I do think that treatment of INIS towards future Irish citizens is appalling. And much of it is avoidable and can be mitigated by automating processes. Having said that I do find your explanation informative. ...

Re: E vetting and citizenship application

But does that mean that for example the INIS need to get data from any other organisation lets say Department of Social Protection, they will get separate consent ... Also if they need to ask a foreign body they will get separate consent? I dont think so. Bureaucracy will always convince politicians...

Re: E vetting and citizenship application

I have received the e-vetting letter on 4th October dated 1st October. Signed and sent back same day. Applied in May 2018 (Stamp 1 and Stamp 4 non-EU). Second stage letter June 2018. One thing I dont understand is why do they need to get consent? How were they doing vetting in the past? Were they as...

Re: Children naturalization application

I had sent an email to the minister of justice 2 weeks ago. Got a response from her private secretary with a reference number the very next day. I have highlighted the ineffectiveness of her department. Total lack of transparency and unable to provide with any answer why an Irish born child's natura...

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

"the record concerned does not exist or cannot be found after all reasonable steps to ascertain its whereabouts have been taken" You should first rule out the first part of that statement that is the record concerned does not exist. Maybe if you have an email where you inquired about the status of m...

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

Last month I made a request FOI on citizenship file and they wrote in their acknowledgement that: "A final decision on your request would normally be sent to you within 4 weeks, where a week is defined as 5 working days excluding the weekend and public holidays. This means that you can expect a dec...

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

Thanks Verona. I am just paranoid that if I request an FOI too early that the department will "mark" my application and then delay my application i.e. I don't want to upset them or give them a reason to delay my application :-) Your paranoia is not unfounded. You might be right. The officers in thi...

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

What is a reference letter in naturalisation application? a letter about you that one of your referees may be asked to write. My friend was contacted and she gave them a short reference which I don't see it in the disclosure. If you are confident that Department is breaking the law, then speak to a...

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

By the way, we have a fresh example just a couple of months ago where a person's citizenship application was rejected due to unauthorised travel history. That person had been demeaning to INIS (and to Vorona :p) saying that the FOI revealed they haven't done anything for over 2 years, when in fact ...

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

A veteran of 2 FOIs, I can confirm that in the last 3 years of the processing of my application, no request had been made to any foreign country/authority where I have lived in the last 9 years prior to my application. BTW, I have lived in 2 countries prior to coming to Ireland. Also, the checklist...

I know my application continues to be processed otherwise why would I be writing you to ask about my application. Second stage, advanced stage, prepared to be submit...

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

There is a lot more to it than meets the eye. I recently received my FOI documents, i launched my application in 2019 - over 2 years waiting now. All necessary check (Documents verification, Stamps, GARDA VETTING) were verified and approved within 4 months of launching application and no further ac...

Has anyone here contacted the office of the Ombudsman for the delay in decision? The reason why I ask is I want to throw the Spam sink at them.
