WH Smith agreement is good enough as long as it has all the signatures in it. Its also good to submit other proofs such as council tax, utility bill etc.

Even my marriage certificate is a A4 printout (and I laminated it), with seal and signature from the relavent authorities and I got my visa using that. So that should be enough. There is no need for the affidavit.

Re: Fall short of ILR 5 years rule by 1 month and 11 days

Based on the dates provided - your visa covers the entire 5 yr period. How then do you fall short by 1 month 11 days? Is it because you entered the UK later than your visa start date? Sorry, I forgot to mention that. Yes I entered UK after 1 month 10 days of gettubg the visa. Do they follow the gui...

Fall short of ILR 5 years rule by 1 month and 11 days

Apologies if this question is answered already. I am on HSMP + Tier 1 general extension. I fall short of 5 years requirement by 1 month 11 days. My HSMP visa started from 18th Feb 2008 and my Tier 1 extension expires on 18th Feb 2013. With this scenario, is it worth taking the risk of applying for I...

If you are applying from outside the UK and have used multiplication factor to uplift the earnings, and want to find a job in UK after getting the visa, do consider that you need to find a job with £150K or more to qualify for extension.

Sad to hear that. As the ECO has mentioned, the applicant has not provided any evidence of her cirsumstance in india. You need to satisfy ECO that the applicant is going to leave UK after the visit and that they have enough reasons to do so. Some of the reasons could be: - Employment (and there by r...

If you have the necessary funds for yourself + two dependents, applying together is a wise decision as it will save a lot of money on the application cost. Validity of visa is mostly from the date of approval (or the date on which the visa was pasted in your passport). In the past, there have been c...

Best option is to use Royal Mail Special Delivery. If you go to post office and ask for Special Delivery envelope, that should be good enough. That comes in various sizes, so ask for the biggest one.

You can keep another special delivery cover to get your documents back.

VFS is a high profile courier company for British High Commission. They simply collect all the paper work (that includes all the required original docs) and send it to BHC.

So, yes, you do need to submit all the originals that are asked for.

VFS India usually ask for following docs as proof of acco:

- House agreement
- two bills in your name (telephone, council, gas etc)

It is best to ask your landlord/agency to switch the agreement to your name rather than risking £800.

Just ensure that you download the lates form from home office website. all the forms will have a version number (which is usually the month and year when they updated it).

You can get prepaid GBP bank cards from India. You can use them here in UK as normal bank cards. Those cards issueed in India wont be ;Chip n Pin', so not all places may accept it here.

No, I didnt give any reason for this early application.

chest Xray and a report saying that you dont have TB. Make sure that Xray has your name or some reference no which is mentioned in the report.

if you dont get time to get the xray, dont worry too much. they will take it in heathrow. will probably add 30-60 min extra.
