Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Congratulations! I am a long time lurker (like, literally years lurking as you can see below) and I am just behind you with awaiting my certificate before applying for my passport. Can I just ask if you had to send in your original UK passport with your application for first Irish passport as per t...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

https://www.kildarestreet.com/wrans/?id=2021-10-12a.638&s=Foreign+Birth Not surprisingly, Simon Coveney * is no longer promising a specific date for reopening or even an announcement with a schedule * is no longer promising pre Covid processing times by the end of 2021 (was clearly impossible w...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I'm not sure how much others can edit this, but I'd like to suggest you add a column for the FBR Team number . In earlier posts, it seemed some teams were processing many more applications than other teams. I added a title to the blank column between input and calculations (Data sheet), but don't h...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I have found this forum useful as many other appear to over the past year or so in working out what the current status is with regards to FBR timelines. Previously a forum member collated all the available timelines periodically and posted them in a succinct manner. Below is my attempt at this, alt...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

After an eternity, I have just received my confirmation of address email. So they are definitely back on the case (or fed up with my Twitter enquiries). Timeline Online application: 5 November 2019 Confirmation of receipt of documents: 11 November 2019 Confirmation of address: 29 September 2021 ......

No worries all! It took about 90min, I didn't actually realise how many timelines had been given until i started! I am not as organised as Sulla with a spreadsheet.
I'll add my thanks - I'm not sure I could do this in 90 min, so I thank you for taking the time to create a single list.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Good news - I have received the confirmation of address email :D - Thanks to everyone for posting supportive advice and info and keeping hopes up over many months. It has been a very long wait over 2 years, but the day has arrived as so many have said it would. So as others have said - the longing ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I listened to this earlier and must say that I found it depressing - I have been feeling upbeat about the FBR and things picking back up, but after that I'm not too sure. It also struck me as concerning how they started the show with words to the effect of ‘we all know about the long standing and n...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Thank you all it’s a relief. I left it for about 18 months and phoned December 20 to be told it was on the pile next to do. I then tried several web chats and go no where. I was so angry come July this year when it had been over 2 years. So I emailed the passport email address with all my dates and...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I applied 2 years ago today and not heard a sausage since. The website has consistently said the waiting time is 12-18 months throughout that time :D The wait goes on. Yep - I'm on second anniversary now - I've not heard a dickie-bird - on the scale of not hearing anything I'm not sure which of us ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

The forum removes spacing, but the short version is that FBR applications have exceeded their approval capacity for the last few years so the backlog is still increasing. I don't see them catching up in 3-4 months. In response to other comments, I don't see US applications having priority, I think t...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Good news to share with all! I contacted the passport office today to ask about expediting my FBR application due to pregnancy, and I was told by the agent that the FBR office will be reopening fully sometime in September and to expect an exact date announcement on the FBR website on September 1st....

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Looks like we are both going to be in the 'two year club' soon then Angelo.. That's about how long it too me to get my FBR. Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Thanks Angelo. Looking at those numbers processed per year it's clear to see where the 18-24 month time frame comes from. I suppose that most people applying for FBR will also eventually be applying for a passport and so processing more FBR claims will invariably lead to more passport applications,...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Seems to be a few newbies here so here goes - Just going through the FBR for our 3 children. The parents each have an Irish parent, one of whom is still alive. Re: Foreign Birth Registration

So it appears that the answer to your question is yes they w...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Did anyone get an email that didn't specify their documents were received like mine? I received two emails, 1st on...
