Hi Gents

He's sent off the 'request letter to reconsider' their decison today.

He'll get the AIT2 Appeal form posted in the next week.

DO they look at these 'requests' favourably if its a 100% 'cast-iron' genuine application - and 2 simple errors caused the initial refusal?

Re: Rules on entry/re-entry for British Overseas Citizen?

I believe they are, but it is up to the immigration officer to decide whether to admit the person or not. If the immigration officer decides that the passport holder is not visiting the UK but is in effect living in the UK on the visitor entry permit, then entry may be refused or (possibly) permitt...

Rules on entry/re-entry for British Overseas Citizen?

Hi Quick question. I know a British Overseas Citizen Passport holder can enter the UK - for up to 6 months. But when they return to their home country, how long before they can return to the UK? Is there any ruling on this? Or are they free to reapply and return as long as their passport is valid?

If the leave to remain that she gets is less than 6 months, she won't be eligible for the NHS. From a previous thread, she may be admissible as a returning resident: http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=26000 But she still has to be living in the U.K. to use the NHS. Just visiting won't...

You can however get online insurance for them from Indian companies like ICICI or Bajaj Allianz etc. Can we apply for th...

I don't know, travel insurance perhaps? You might be able to find such insurance here, but they might well issue it only to people resident in the UK. I don't know. Alternatively, perhaps organised from India: I don't know that you would have to be in India to contract an arrangement with a travel ...

Well, he shouldn`t worry too much about it then. I can say, with the benefit of experience, that the education system in India is far superior, and cheaper,to the one in UK (unless, maybe, if one goes to Oxbridge) I can only speak for education system in Pakistan which is good if you can afford it....

I would class it as 'arranged' If you go into the realms of 'love marriage' - and then are asked questions on how long you have known each other - however genuine your explanation, it might not seem believable. If I was HOme Office - I would really try to catch you both out. Much easier to say it's ...

Re: Student Visa Holder, wife & child problem...

Child is not a British citizen. Child can be registered as British if: a. one of the parents gets ILR (or other form of permanent residence); OR b. child lives in the U.K. until age 10. ILR - how long will that take for a student? What if the husband leaves - and wife remains - is she technically a...
