Lets say if an application has a few areas of doubt, then producing a one-way ticket is only going to give the officer more ammunition to refuse. So why take the risk? Book a return ticket - an educated guess will give your return date. And when the individual has decided when he/she wishes to retur...

Just get a return ticket, and amend the return date when she is ready to go back.

Seems pointless to get to this stage of the process, and then potentially ruin it for the sake of saving a few pounds.

Applying for a relative to visit the UK. What forms?

Hi, sister in law is planning to visit us sometime in the next year from Pakistan.

The procedure seems different to when I last sponsored a relative to visit us 3 years ago.

Can someone point me in the right direction? Many thanks

Hi, making 2 large deposits of 1.5 lacs & 2.5 lacs in the space of a week or 2 will not help your application. They usually pick up on such deposits. You will need to explain them properly.

I read about these cases now & then, yet get shocked each time I see a new one! I wouldnt want to be in your family's situation - esp being so young Makes you wonder how the authorities can let someone go through the system from baby to adulthood. Can I ask, if you had no status, how did you get edu...

I was only asking to establish how 'safe' the country was. With the attitude you've shown, I'll give this a thread a miss!

Well they need to swallow their pride and approach their legal rep. You can't expect advice on an asylum matter from a public forum. The wife would need to claim asylum in her own right if she has her own fear of return and she were no longer dependent on the husbands claim. I am not going to elabo...

Husband has left the home & living with some individuals they met whilst in an Asylum centre.

They wont approach their legal rep & they are embarrased by the situation

gollywood, the rules are not gender sensitive. That is, they apply exactly the same for a wife wishing to bring her husband to the UK, as to a husband wishing to bring in his wife. So exactly what "disability benefits" are being claimed? I believe she is getting incapacity Benefit & Disability Allo...

Pakistan: Only online apps being accepted for Spouse visa?

A lady I am trying to advise on applying for her husband to join her from Pakistan to the UK wants to know if she can submit a paper application, or does it have to be online? Husband/Wife' Asylum claim-on the verge of splitting up!

Hi, need a bit of advice for a family that I am friendly with as I helped them out some time ago. They are currently in the Asylum system awaiting a decision after their appeal was heard last year. However, for one reason or another, their marriage is on the rocks, and they are barely on talking ter...

Re: Are Asylum Seekers allowed to fly on domestic UK flights

Eg fly from Gatwick to Glasgow? Or is he simply not allowed to fly domestically? I travel few years ag...

How would I know? I've cited Easyjet's requirements by way of example but you have not said which airline you are flying with. Additionally, a Govt. issued ID card seems (to me) to refer to civil servant's ID pass. You need to make your own enquiries with your chosen airline. Probably two clicks of...

Valid Government-issued identity card
SMART card
Electoral identity card
So an Asylum Registration Card might be OK?
