Re: Advice/Help needed - wifes visa rejected due to NHS debt

I know, with the benefit of hindsight that's just what we would have done, but at the time we simply weren't aware of this law, it's such a minefield Now that you are in the system Gareth, you are now aware of the hoops that any non-EU spouses have to jump through to get here legitamately, and the ...

Re: Advice/Help needed - wifes visa rejected due to NHS debt

I've just read the reason given for rejection and it is this ruling: Immigration Law 281 (v): (v) the parties will be able to maintain themselves and any dependants adequately without recourse to public funds; I've also seen the visa application guidance which states this: Where the debt relates to...

Be patient Gareth. The system can make you very cynical at times, and you might feel as there is no hope! But fear not! Be prepared to take the odd knock-back, in order to forge ahead!! Are you now saying that the NHS debt has been fully paid off? If so, have you considered appealing? (Has to be wit...

£1200 doesnt seem like an amount over which you should be estranged from your wife & child - I would look at the debt issue 1st & foremost & seek ways of remedying this, so that it cant be used against you again Was this the only point that the application was rejected on, or were there any other is...

Just a follow up question, slightly unrelated... If an Asylum Seeker after exhausted his/her appeals, if served notice to leave the country.. 1) What happens if he/she is not able to afford the cost of air tickets? 2) If the UK authorities pay for it, do they in turn reclaim them from the applicants...

Anyone claiming asylum should seek advice from a competent solicitor or immigration advisor before doing so. You should encourage them to seek legal advice. If asked why they didn't claim earlier they need to be honest. Delay in claiming can cause ukba to doubt the credibility of the claim whatever...

OK, so theoretically, he could arrive for 2 weeks & then go back. Then come back 2 months later for another 2 weeks? And then go back, and come back for another 2 weeks - aslong as its within the 6 months?

Thats how I read into it.

This is where the confusion sets in - they refer to 'discretion' - which I read into if a child was ill, late at night - then they could be seen by A&E or an out of hours type of service?
