Re: Can I travel before I get my UK passport

Hi- just following up on this thread. My wife’s in a similar situation she is a South African national and has recently obtained her citizenship certificate but doesn’t yet have a British passport. She is dual citizen as she’s retained her South African citizenship and she was going to travel to So...

Re: Irish Naturalisation *without* criminal record

For the naturalisation garda vetting, would I just need to submit enhanced criminal records checks from the UK Are you applying as NI applicant or from Ireland? If the former, AFAIK you need to submit a DAT1. What (if any) checks are they doing besides that is unclear. Does every single applicant t...

Re: How long does it take to get the first time passport application?

If your original is not in English I believe you need to send both it and a registered translation. I sent both the original and translation as well - guy on the webchat said they need the original. Since having the naturalisation cert means that they've already checked out your birth cert. To be f...

Re: Stamp 4 Spouse of Irish Citizen Visit Northern Ireland?

Not legally, no. Technically she needs to apply for a visa, as CTA only covers Irish/British citizens.

However, I don't know if she will be checked.
Up to you if you want to risk it - I'd advice against it.

Re: EU2 or WABC- British citizen EU treaty rights in Ireland post brexit

I would suppose that these conditions are not applicable - even if you were exercising EU Treaty Rights as a British citizen before, it's gone now, which ISD clearly indicates (by issuing WA beneficiaries Stamp 4 cards, not 4EUFam).

Don't think they'll give you anything specific to you - look for automatic extensions published by DoJ, as that's how they usually handle it.

Re: Gap explanation in naturalisation cover letter

due to my work permit application from Stamp 1G to Stamp 1. Please note that my work permit was valid from 17/01/2020 but I received immigration appointment for a later date. Technically, that means you didn't have a legal stay for 3 months as I assume you did not apply for any stamp. I'm not sure ...

I'm unsure given the circumstances how I would've extended their BRPs before they expired because I would have, if I could have.
They could've applied for ILR, same way you/your spouse did as kids follow the path of least privileged parent. But it's too late to cry over spilled milk.

Re: Stamp1G to Stamp 4 conversion for dependant of Irish Citizen(Naturalised)

I'd say try it online if there's no time pressure - you have your naturalization cert/marriage cert and so on to upload, plus since she got a 1G, id hope ISD is already seeing your relationship is fine. Most likely that'll do; if not, you'd have to reach out to Dublin office (and you'll get your mon...

Re: IRP/Stamp 4 for dependent (Children <12 years) of Naturalized Citizen

i read that children with an IRP card or Stamp 4 in their passport are exempted from a visa when they accompany an Irish citizen. Where did you read this? You might be confusing Stamp 4 and Stamp 4EUFam (which you cannot get). Stamp 4EUFam holders do get IRPs even if theyre kids. They can apply for...

On what basis do you plan to come to UK?

You cannot just travel to UK with your current passport. You need a visa.

Re: Urgent query - MN1 submitted for child, need to travel but BRP expired

Alternatively is it possible to apply for a child first time British passport from overseas which may allow them to return back? Technically, yes; practically, you would need to obtain a registration certificate from UK once/if approved, then wait for 6 months/a year or more, as passports on Indian...

Nope, not yet. That's just an online autoresponse.

The real acknowledgement will arrive in about 2 months.

The idea of appeal means, usually, that the decision was made wrongly.
Here the decision was made correctly, as it was based on the inconsistent information supplied from your employers side. I'm very much doubting it can be appealed.

Your employer should try to get a priority service COS.

After a month and 4 days since the application, it finally changed to "Printing". No other statuses have come after day and no additional information. No idea how long will it take to "print" and if I will be notified when dispatched. You will be notified (and you'll get a tracking number once sent).
