Re: Indian entry visa application query.

Hi jacsll55, I have applied for naturalisation for my family and would then be applying for a visa for my family, and go back to India and apply for OCI soon after our arrival. Can I ask you why you chose entry visa as opposed to either tourist visa or 5 year long term visa? Could I request you to P...

Hi Chandni131313,

Can you post any links supporting your claim? It is a well known fact that the Indian constitution does not allow dual citizenship.

Re: How to change name ?plz help !!

As far as I understand yeah. Dont worry about OCI, thats more for the other countries section. You do not have to change your name on the naturalization certificate. Just when applying for passport you can get it your maiden name based on the deed poll. I got to admit this is all speculation at the ...

Re: How to change name ?plz help !!

Also discussed here in detail: http://www.immigrationboards.com/british-citizenship/change-of-name-while-applying-british-passport-t153795.html No verdict now though, most people say get a deed poll and then apply for passport with the new name, and attach deed poll. I am going to do this for my wif...

Re: What happens after you get MN1 for your kids?

First child passport, fast track in person application, takes 3-4 days for the passport to arrive, not sure about timelines for postal applications.

Optimism is all I have daydream:). I need to get back to my native country at the earliest, applied on 16th December, and the optimistic part of me is hoping for a decision before April sets in.

That sounds a bit extreme to me. I actually have a feeling once the October rush is over, applications will turn back faster.

Re: Can my daughter get admission in Indian School

Agree with pennylessindia here, I have myself got an admission for my daughter in an Indian school, when we go back, we will all be british. This does not matter for schooling, when you talk about higher education, fees and opportunity depends on the state you are living in. In Pune (Maharashtra), t...

Re: Visiting NCS Tomorrow

For LIUK remember to carry the same id proof as you used at the time of the test.
Also better to carry any approval letters etc from HO that you may have received in the past. My Ncs person took copies of all letters I had, said provides context to case worker.

Infants passport should take 3-4 days if you go for the in-person fast track option.

Not sure about the regular postal method.

OK, thanks for explaining. My plans are exactly like yours, but I am not sure about the legality of this, so am currenly sticking to the OCI plan. I would recommend talking to some immigratiojn lawyer in India, or taking this in writing from FRRO. I have already crossed the point of no return, maybe...

Do you have any official link/email about this? Thats exactly my point, its a new rule (if it is!), so you might...

Why would you do that mate, why would you put your kids in that kind of jeopardy? The way I see it there are only 2 real options: 1) Take British passport for them, surrender Indian passport, get OCI. 2) Do not take British passport, retail Indian passport and go for RoA. Out of the 2, I would still...
