You seem to think naturalisation and ILR are the same thing, they are not. You need to get ILR, then you can be naturalised.

The rules you found are for naturalisation, not for ILR. For you to get ILR as a work permit holder you need to have spent a continuous period of 5 years lawfully in the UK.

Just seen on another forum that someone who was granted a spouse visa on the 3rd October 2006 but didn't arrive in the UK until the 14th November 2006 (delay of 6 weeks) has just been granted ILR directly rather than having to apply for FLR first.

Maybe the BIA are being a bit more flexible.

What type of visa? If you mean visit (ie up to 6 months) then yes. If you mean permanently then no, I don't think it's possible until you get ILR.

I don't believe there is a way because what you are trying to do is bring her here to work - she looks after your son, you pay her in the form of accomodation and other living expenses.

However for others, all they need to do is to tick the last box under Q1.22 on the form AN. That is it! No need to submit a certificate in order to prove that! And as it says in the Guide ,,,, last bullet point .... "Your confirmation that you met this requirement in order to obtain settlement." .....
