My situation is slighlty different to the guy in the link as I am not in the UK, been married for ...

The fact that your children have British passports doesn't mean they have to live in the UK. Does make it slightly easier if they don't need settlement visas, but regardless of whether they need visas or not if you are trying to get a settlement visa for one member of your family (ie your wife) you ...

Children having British passports does not help the mother get a settlement visa. It is possible to apply for a settlement visa without a job already waiting in the UK so long as you have some savings. But is is more likely to be approved if you are already have a job offer in the UK or having even ...

Thanks Elena, Do you know how long it generally takes for this visa application? Can it be up too a few months? Is it possible to do premium same day service as with o...

I doubt there is a actual figure stated, but the amount the ECO is looking for will vary. Eg Is there free accommodation in a house (relative/friend), or are you paying for hotels?

If we get married in Canada, how long does it generally take to be allowed back in the UK with permission to work? Does Mitch have to be working in the UK to get the spousal visa, while I am waiting in Canada? As soon as your spousal visa is approved, you can enter and work. Yes he has to be workin...

She will not be able to re-enter the UK on her existing visa as it would have expired. They may let her re-enter as a visitor with a new 'stamp'. Does anybody have any experience with this? I wouldn't like to take a chance that they might let you into the country. We're planning on booking the Cana...

I never tried to make a personal remark. It was just based on keeping immigration rules in mind. No problem. I appreciate your advice. Ok, so we've been chatting and we'd like to make the holiday and then Bobbi fly to Canada from the airport we return to from holiday. Hopefully that makes sense. So...

Try reading vinny's links. It's not just having a two year relationship, it's about living together and having a relationship akin to marriage/civil partnership for at least two years. What evidence have you got to show this? Really not a good idea to overstay and that is likely to make things diffi...

I honestly agreed with you, I said it earlier in my post. I 'm only banking on the experience of the OP who got unmarried partner even though they were not together for up to 24 months last week. Just reading the case of the person you refer to and it seems when they did apply for UPV they were onl...

you need more than proof of living together, you need proof that you are in a relationship like a marriage which means joint financial commitments, etc. i think the rules that it has to be over 2 years are set in stone so prepare yourself to be refused. my advice to you would be to have a think abou...

I will add though that if you did get avisa issued by the french embassy it should allow you into spain first.

not sure I would recommend it as it may limit your chances of getting a visa from the french embassy in the future.

If you are talking about registration then none will be refunded. If you are talking about naturalisation then the cost of the cermony will be refunded (use to be £80, though might have increased).

Anytime from 20th June 2010 onwards No, a spouse of a British Citizen doesn't have to wait for a year after they have ILR before applying, but they do have to be in the UK 3 years. So the 14th July 2010 is probably the earliest as I guess you have no legal stay between 4th June 2007 and 13th July 2...

Personally I reckon reasons 1 and 2 are only sub-reasons for the refusal, and wouldn't have caused the ECO to reject your mother's application on their own - the ECO mentioned them just to strengthen his case for the refusal. Not really sure what you can do, as very difficult to prove that your moth...

he shouldn't have a 27 month spouse visa if you aren't married. he should have a 6 month fiance visa or maybe a 27 (I think) unmarried partners visa if you have been living together for more than a couple of years.
